Nitin ,

I suppose Satish will start on this today

How soon can we upload it ?

To begin with , if you finalize the " INPUT " page and make it available to Sanjivani , then she can start entering the data ( news snippets ) right away

That way , by the time you are ready to upload the page , Sanjivani could have compiled / aggregated , 50 / 100 items

This has the advantage that , from day ONE , visitors will get to see some interesting data and feel like ,

>   re-visiting

>  subscribe to RSS feed

hcp

PS :

If a news-snippet " heading / title " , is copy/pasted from a web site , is it possible to show the URL as a hyperlink , in the " Publication " column , so that , if a visitor wants to read the full article , he can just click on that URL ?

This will be very " re-assuring " to the visitor  !

May be , we can call that " Column / Field "  :

" Publication / Source "

New Page : Who is Investing in India ?
------------------------------------------

Attached find the design . I am asking Sanjivani to email to you the hand-drawn images of these 3 pages( actually , two )

I would request you to take this up as next priority and target to upload it by next week-end

Points to note:

>   This page will be developed on the basis of CMS ( Content Management System )

>   " Input Page " will be accessible to Sanjivani , thru ADMIN page

>   After login , she will enter data ( news snippets picked up from news papers / web sites ), but not upload ( see Example Page)

>   Once a day , I will log in , check the data-entry and click ( one ? ) UPLOAD button to update the database

>   Next to " Select Country " drop list , I suggest we provide a " Subscribe " link with provision for entering Email Id

>  Any visitor should be able to " Subscribe " ( to this RSS feed ? ) , in order to get in his email , news-snippets corresponding

to Country selected by him in the " Select Country " drop list . Of course , he can select " All Countries " if he wants

> " All Countries " will be the default option

>  At a time , only one news snippet will appear in a rectangular box in the centre

>  clicking on Numbers ( 1  2  3  .... ) appearing below the box will reveal corresponding news snippet

> It would be nice to have some dynamic counters for the No of News Snippets for each Country

> Can there be some facility for the Visitor ( any casual visitor ) to be able to forward any particular news snippet to the email ID of one or more , colleagues ? This could prove very popular feature when the visiting foreign executive wants to alert his other colleagues

I am sure , there are issues that I have NOT anticipated - which may occur to you !

I have , in my today's email to Shri Amitabh Kant , briefly mentioned re this page

Since MakeInIndia web site itself is going to be revamped , I thought of this

Pl phone me in case there are any doubts or clarifications needed

Hire , when you need : Fire , when you don't !

hihirhulikal@yahoo.com

Hire ,  when   you   need  :   Fire ,  when   you  don't  !

What is the amount of investment required to create 1 Million jobs per month ? ( = No of jobseekers joining India's labour market each month )

That would depend upon the " Industry " for investment

There are some , " Capital Intensive " industries which would require a huge investment , whereas , there are some " Labour Intensive " industries , where a much smaller investment can generate 1 Million jobs

For example , to generate 1 Million jobs would need :

*  Industrial Instruments ( Labour Intensive )................... Rs  10,000  Cr
*  Boilers / Steam Generating Plants ( Capital Intensive )... Rs 500,000 Cr

{ Source : DIPP , Investment and Job Creation from Aug 1991-Mar 2014
   as reported in Times of India / 17 March , 2015  }

Of course , we don't have to create all of those 1 Million jobs per month , in just one or two industries

If we take an " Average Investment " required across ALL the industries , then , may be , we need :

Rs 200,000 Cr to generate 1 Million jobs every month

ie :   Rs 2 Lakh*Crores   per month
ie :   Rs 24 Lakh*Crores  every year

Now , who has got that kind of money to invest , even if we assume that

>  there is a " Ready Market " for all of those products , here and now ?

>  this market will not shrink in the foreseeable future  ?

Obviously , the Governments ( Central + States ) , don't  !

If we include FDI , may be Private Sector can raise that kind of money

But will it invest in " Capital Intensive " industries or in " Labour Intensive " industries ?

Given the current labour laws , it is clear that the investors will choose to invest in Capital Intensive industries

Even if that means , creation of only 1 Lakh jobs instead of 10 Lakh jobs !

At this point , it is worth researching whether USA succeeds in creating some 150,000 / 200,000  new jobs every month , due to its policy of  :

"  Hire when you need : Fire when you don't  "

Before hiring , do USA industrialists ask of themselves :

"  If things go wrong and I am forced to trim my work-force , will this recruit
   become a permanent burden ? "

Providing of hyperlinks

amitabh.kant@nic.in

Dear Amitabh ,

On Saturday afternoon , I had a long chat with Uday Munjal re providing of hyperlinks to B2B , from MakeInIndia / InvestIndia web sites

He had promised to discuss this today , with Shri Bagla and convey his decision

Uday phoned this afternoon to say that , even though Shri Bagla is convinced of the advantage this ( hyper linking ) would provide to the Foreign Company Executives visiting InvestIndia web site , he would like to defer this till the web site gets re-vamped

Even though I felt very disappointed , I respect his decision and shall wait

I tried to call you around 4:15 pm but you were busy in a meeting

Your secretary , Mr Chauhan said , he will call me back when you are relatively free

If ok with you , I will try to reach you over phone , around 11 am tomorrow morning .

In the meantime , you may want to look up..... India  Project  Resources

Shuklendu,

Yesterday , I had a 45 minute telecon with Uday Munjal ( of InvestIndia team )

I have marked to you , a copy of my subsequent email to him

Around 5:30 pm , he rang up to say that , after registering on B2B as a Subscriber ( in his own name , " Uday Munjal " ) , he did NOT receive our Activation Link  !

I have promised to call him back , tomorrow morning

I did check Falconide log and found that it shows that one email has gone to :

Hence , I fail to understand why he did not receive the link !

He told me , tomorrow , he will present our case ( for hyper linking ) to Invest India MD , Shri Deepak Bagla

It is , therefore , very important for us to solve this problem permanently - if it still remains unsolved

Uday wants to thoroughly " test / try out " the blasting feature of our web site , BEFORE meeting Shri Bagla

PS :

I hope , Nitin has found out why Shri Devendra Desai ( Children Toy Foundation ) could not pay Rs 4000/- on Friday , thru ccAvenue

RE: Providing Links on Web sites [#11910]

Dear Uday ,

As far as you not receiving the Activation Link is concerned , I have alerted Mr Shuklendu Baji ( MD - Sentient Systems / who develop and maintain B2B web site )

I hope to get back to you by 11am tomorrow morning

I am glad that you plan to thoroughly " test / try out " , the Message Blasting Service of B2B

While doing so , if you face any issues , do not hesitate to phone me

A note of caution :

" Email Alerts " feature will work , only if the following three conditions are met :

Message Sender is a Foreign Company ( who have selected a Foreign Country Name / City Name , while registering )

Since you have registered as " New Delhi / India " , it won't work for you

Message Receivers  = " Indian Companies "

Message type =  Inviting Indian Companies for Technical Collaboration / Joint Venture

But then , B2B is not only about promoting " Joint Ventures " between Foreign Companies and Indian Companies

Going beyond that , B2B is a platform for promoting trade between India and the rest of the World !

Just take a look at the " Types " of Messages that can be COMPOSED and get blasted

regards,

hemen
