Promo emails

With guidance from Kailas, Tushar has clubbed together a few files to create a batch of 2 lakh records.

Anytime soon, Kailas would start the uploading process – which may take 2 /3 hours.

In the meantime, Tushar will continue the bunching and hopefully, by 5 pm , get another batch of 3 lakh ready. Kailas will start the uploading of 2^nd batch before leaving for home.

I suppose the uploading can continue unattended during the night.

This way, we may manage to upload 5 lakh records daily. So, that problem stands solved.

In the meantime, please speak to Abhinandan to find out whether the SQL problem got solved or not.

If he could not solve it last night for any reason, then you must solve it before 5 pm so that Kailas can start emails to the first batch ( 2 lakhs ) before leaving.

It is essential that we pick up the speed.

Yesterday we had 76 visits !

So, if we keep pushing the envelope ( apply continuous, steady effort ) , then we will be able to start a “ buzz “ amongst the jobseekers.

Already, during last 2 weeks, Alexa has raised our world-wide “ Site Rank “ from approx. 4.5 million to around 3 million.

Now, if we succeed to get 760 visits/day on a rising basis, we may get within 30,000 !

Hardik tells me that he has succeeded in automating the “ De-duplication “ process.

With this achievement, all the 3 critical processes stand automated :

Ø De-duplicating

Ø Uploading

Ø Emailing

21,000 emails got sent yesterday afternoon. We will see its effect today

Hardik tells me that he plans to upload today, 35,000 record before lunch and another 35 / 40,000 records before evening

Kailas will start the emailing as soon as he hears from Hardik

There is some problem with my email being blacklisted. Kailas is working to set it right

Visits on Tue / Wed / Thursday were 43 / 76 / 121

From Nitin I understand that uploading from your end takes a lot of time due to limited bandwidth. He asked me if we can upload candidate records from our end.

No problem. We will do. Vilas must have already reached your office to collect the DVD for records.

I suppose, the duplicates are already removed from these.

Because, Kailas may not know how to remove the duplicates

Even for uploading the records, he will need your guidance initially, to ensure that nothing goes wrong.

He will need to keep a log of what files have been uploaded and what are remaining. Just as we cannot afford to upload the same file twice, we can neither afford to miss out any.

Kailas has already been sending out the emails, using the tool developed by Hardik, so I don’t see any problem there.

If our much bigger bandwidth permits, I would like Kailas to upload even 5 lakh records everyday !

Anyway, today’s target is 140,000 records of AHMEDABAD file, as told to me by Hardik.

We are on the right track

Subverting Democracy ?

Ministers are claiming that Baba Ramdev and Anna Hazare are subverting democratic processes.

Now come on !

Is making people aware of a social evil, making them aware of their democratic rights, a subversion of parliamentary democracy ?

To my best knowledge, neither Anna nor Baba, has ever advocated dissolution of parliament and imposition of President’s rule !

They are fully aware – and staunchly believe – that Lokpal Bill / Delivery of Service Bill / Recall of Elected Representatives Bill etc. have to be passed by the parliament.

I think Baba / Anna should now , focus their energies, their arguments on educating the members of parliament.

How about asking our Members of Parliament to attend public hearings in their respective constituencies and openly declare their “ stand “ on these bills and how they plan to vote ?

And conducting non-violent, peaceful, absolutely silent demonstrations in front of their homes ? Those are perfectly democratic processes !

They are answerable to people who elected them !

Duplicate candidate records

I just checked with Kailas and even he has not received the email that I sent to all of you this morning from home.

So here is the gist :

Hardik told me there are some identical / duplicate records in the candidate records excel sheets.

As a result , he cannot upload these files – unless he removes these duplicates.

One can remove these by using some de-duplicating software. Manually it is impossible.

But what would be much easier and faster would be to simply REMOVE ( from the excel sheets ) all duplicates.

If, out of 60 lakh records, some 60,000 duplicates get eliminated then it will make no difference to our efforts / final outcome.

What is far more critical at this stage is to quickly establish the process of sending out promo emails thru independent 500 Kb Airtel broadband only so that our 3p emails are not affected due to blacklisting.

I hope you can, amongst yourself, solve this problem by this evening.

As mentioned to you over phone, during the last 3 months alone, we have sent over 2 million promo emails thru Airtel line without facing any problem. This line has its own independent STATIC IP

Can you please tell me what you mean by " all " data ?

I must know " precise numbers " of records in each database before I transfer money to your account.

I do not want repetition of my earlier experience when you claimed 70 lakh records and I received only 60 lakh !

I also want your firm assurance that , as far as the " New " resume records of 50 lakh which you are proposing to send, none of these are " duplicate " with the 60 lakh which you have already sent earlier.
