Hi Friends,

Even as I launch this today ( my 80th Birthday ), I realize that there is yet so much to say and do. There is just no time to look back, no time to wonder,"Will anyone read these pages?"

With regards,

Payment Module for B2B

Shuklendu

As mentioned during your visit to our office on friday , we had constructed an elaborate " Payment Module " in our earlier site , RecruitGuru.com

If there is a way , we should try to " revive " this site ( offline , at least ) and take a look at the source code

It is possible that , we may be able to re-use / copy , some of that code for B2B

If that happens , we may be able to dramatically cut short the time for new development

In late 2010 , Abhinandan had travelled from Pune on a saturday , to revive RecruitGuru.com , but he could not complete that work

I will write to him once again , if he could help us with this revival

In the meantime , from my memory , I list below , the salient features of the Payment Module of RecruitGuru :

SUBSCRIBER  CONSOLE  :

> Subscriber can access his own console at any time ( as long as he continues as a " Subscriber " ), by login

> This tabulation dynamically records , each and every payment made by the Subscriber, with amount / date

> The data ( of payments,  and of usage,  and of the balance ) is shown " Cumulatively "

> For his convenience , we could also separate out and show , " Payments Made " and " Usages " and " Balances ", in

   three separate tabulations , as well

> " Usage " column shows " No of Emails Sent " ( and RUPEES charged for this blast )

> Should we consider showing balance column in " Currency " ( $ ) , as well ?

> I presume that Paypal / ICICI and other similar online Payment Systems ( one of which , we will use ) , will permit
    a subscriber to effect payments in Multiple Currencies . After all , B2B will be used by companies from all over the
    World

    Will our Subscriber Console enable " Currency Conversion " on the fly ? Although , the BASE tabulations themselves,
    will automatically convert every payment and the Balance Amount , in RUPEES

> Every time , we change the TARIFF , the tabulations will convert the balances ( in Rupees as well as in No of Emails to
   his Credit ) , with appropriate TARIFF RATE in the TARIFF column

   At any time , a Subscriber should be able to see , at what Tariff ( per email sent ) , is his BALANCE calculated

> We need to automatically send out PAYMENT REMINDER notices ( emails ) when the BALANCE falls to certain values

    There should be a last WARNING NOTICE when the balance falls to a certain pre-fixed amount

    We should be able to RE-SET these triggers at different Balances left to his credit

> There should be some mechanism to SUSPEND his Account , when the balance reaches a certain figure

    At this point , a warning message should flash on each and every page ( assuming that the subscriber is logged in )

   After this , he will NOT be able to carry out any blast ( like a mobile PRE_PAID account )

>  Of course , every time a subscriber makes an online payment , a confirmation email must go out , showing new
   balance and the old balance

>  There will be NO provision for " Refunding " of any unutilized CREDIT BALANCE. This must be made clear in " TERMS
    and CONDITIONS " , which are specific to the ONLINE PAYMENT PAGE

>  I suppose , all online payments will be thru CREDIT and DEBIT cards only. What about payments thru mobile ?

>  The Terms and Conditions must explicitly state that we reserve the right to change the tariff at any time , without
    prior / advance notice. Of Course , every time , we change the tariff , an Email must go out AUTOMATICALLY to all
    the subscribers , telling them the new tariff and asking them to look up their REVISED BALANCE , in their personal
     console

>  The credit amounts ( balance ) are NOT TRANSFERABLE across different accounts , even if held by same subscriber

ADMIN  CONSOLE  :

>  This can be accessed only by authorized persons from RecruitGuru and Sentient Systems

>  Here , one tabulation will consolidate the data ( individual tabulations ) of ALL subscribers , put together

>  ADMIN should have an easy / simple access to the individual SUBSCRIBER CONSOLES , by clicking on names

>  Admin should also be able to see , another tabulation , where there is a running record of all the payments received,

    * for the day

    * for yesterday

    * for current week

    * for current month

    *  for current year ........etc

> There should be provision to compare the payments received for any given period of current year with an identical
   period of the previous year ( growth percentage , included )

> There should be a provision to validate the ONLINE payments made by the subscribers ( thru ICICI ) , with our bank passbook ( reconciliation ). How else will we know that these online payments , actually got credited to our bank account ?

It will be impossible to carry out such " Reconciliation Of Payments Made " . manually

> There will be a separate feature to enable us to fix the REVISED TARIFF directly from this console , with ONE click

> There should be a TARIFF HISTORY table

> There should be a OUTSTANDING LIABILITY table . At any time , we must know ,

   *  how much money is lying balance to the credit of ALL subscribers

   *  how many " emails "  we owe to all subscribers , put together

>  It is entirely possible that , in course of time , we may introduce other " EMAILING SERVICES "

   eg :

    Enabling a subscriber to email ( blast ) his company's promotional VIDEO / PHOTO etc

   Hence , we must have a provision to fix separate / new tariffs for such proposed services, as and when , introduced

> In our very next web site ( B2C ) , we plan to enable subscribers to blast their promo emails to " END CONSUMERS "

   I propose that any Subscriber of B2B , is also able to use the B2C site , with same login-no separate registration

   Hence , in both , the SUBSCRIBER CONSOLE as well as in ADMIN CONSOLE , there should be provision for the USAGES
   and CREDIT BALANCES , for both the services

   At a later date , this should be able to accommodate the other planned services , as well

   In same way , any subscriber of B2C , will automatically , get to use B2B web site services

   We have already planned that the Subscriber Database for all the 3 web sites ( B2B / B2C / CustomizeResume ) , will
    be the same

There are a few additional features which I don't remember offhand

But , I think , I have preserved my handwritten notes

If I manage to find these , I will send to you xerox copies next week
