But I do feel that you need to step up the tempo in order to meet our target date of end September
That is entirely possible if both groups work as ONE team and divide the work amongst the members, since the only difference between these sites is in the U/I and S/W code for the page , “ CREATE MAILING LISTS “
Differences , if any , in the remaining pages is only COSMETIC / Write-Ups
As far as the Look-and-Feel of these sites are concerned , please follow the CustomizeResume as the benchmark
But keep a target to improve upon CustomizeResume !
Elegance lies in Simplicity !
That will enable you to construct web pages that download “ Under 3 Seconds “ !
Any page that takes longer than 3 seconds is UNACCEPTABLE !
Using Google WebMaster Tools , you can test this ( download speed ) using different page layouts
Web Master Tools will even tell you whether your page design is optimized for,
Ø Google
Spider to crawl / index
Ø Increasing
Visitor Traffic
Even the Search-Result Display , must get downloaded under 3 seconds – no matter how big !
For achieving this , you will need to employ some clever tricks
Yesterday , during our meeting , you witnessed that , in CustomizeResume , “ Happy Birthday “ and “ Resume Archive “ pages take ages to download !
This is because , s/w is drilling down into a database of 47 lakh records !
But splitting / storing this vast database into smaller chunks ( date and month ) will load the page very fast
I show below , a typical of those 47 lakh records / resumes , which constitutes our “ C = Customer “ database in B2C web site
Take a close look and check whether this much data ( in each Customer Record ) will suffice to create those “ Mailing Lists “
May be you noticed that “ Gender “ is missing !
Of course , in our “ Registration Form “ ( for Jobseekers ) in CustomizeResume , we do have ALL fields relating to the “ Create Mailing List “ parameters
But those are mere 120 records out of 47 lakhs !
So , how will Mailing List get created , if the field itself is missing ?
