My Jobs Widget


Dear Team



Yesterday evening , Nitin managed to upload My Jobs widget [ Smart Phone version ], on Android Market ( under category “ Tools “ )

Tablet version could not be uploaded due to some file name being same. I would request Thara to change this and forward modified APK to Shuklendu

There is one more – minor – issue re “ Insertion “ of some message ( in the Advt Slot ) whenever InMobi Server does not deliver any advts

Hi Nitin

As discussed over phone,  the InMobi account details as in the below mail are correct.

Also as discussed, the ads are loaded 60% of the time(we could view the ads when we used the ‘testing2@gmail.com’ login) but the rest of the time  when the ads do not appear there is a default ‘SiteonMobile’ logo displayed which opens the ‘http://siteonmobile.com’ url and this is NOT an actual AD and is only a default image in the Ad placeholder  and that is the reason why the clicks are not getting recorded in your database.

Please let us know if you need any more information.

I would appreciate if we can somehow use this “ Vacant slot “ ( whenever that happens ) , to enable the widget-user to “ Share “ his discovery of the widget , with his friends on Facebook

Could this be done by providing  Facebook’s   “ Share button / Like Button “   in this slot ?

Earlier , I have sent to you an extract from book “ The Third Screen “ ( by Chuck Martin ), where he writes about such intervention by a company Steve Madden of USA and how traffic to their web site went up several fold due to this feature

If possible , that could enable us to start a “ Positive / Word-of-mouth “  Viral buzz !

The widget code needs to be changed to enable the ‘Production Mode’ ads. We are integrating the same and are the facing the following issue :

The InMobi App ID that we are using in  the Jobs Widget is  ‘4028cb1333eded0b0133efc10a79003e’ which has been activated using one of our team members login id ‘das.prosenjit.eie@gmail.com’.
This ID gives a status as ‘Active’ which should mean that ‘Production Mode’ ads are enabled. However, we noticed that with this App ID integrated in the widget code the production ads do not load.
We get the following log message for Ad request made from the widget :
12-24 18:31:29.774: WARN/InMobiAndroidSDK_3.0.1(3608): Ad request successful, but no ad was returned due to lack of ad inventory.
12-24 18:31:29.774: INFO/SplashScreen(3608): InMobiAdActivity-> onAdRequestFailed, adView: com.inmobi.androidsdk.IMAdView@44ddcb10 ,errorCode: NO_FILL

If you have a registered InMobi App ID for ‘Production Mode’ ads could you share it with us to let us try with ?

Does changing the widget in ‘Production Mode’ mean change in widget code and hence a new APK?

My concern is that if we publish the current widget and people download it, will they continue to get dummy ads only?

I think we need to resolve this before we publish on Android Market.

We have already prepared the description, but we do not have the other files. If you can send these files, we will upload from our end. Alternatively, we will send you the description file and login details and you can upload from your end. Kindly let us how you want to do this.

Since, we have 2 widgets, for smartphone & tablet, we need 2 different icons. We suggest that we take the current icon and add appropriate text at the bottom, (phone / tablet).

Let us know if we can do this today before start of your vacation.
