Dear Friends,
Wishing you a Happy Diwali again, I would like to update you
of some simple rules for performance selection decided by Charul , Tushar and
me, for our forthcoming programmes.
These rules are not sacrosanct and can certainly be changed
in case found to be inconvenient. The tremendous response to perform from
within our group obliges all of us to ensure that everyone interested gets
a chance to perform , while at the same time keeping the uniqueness and
infotainment content of a program intact.
The selection of songs [ selection - not the sequence!]
shall follow the following order of preference :
1. The first preference shall be given to duets [ can be MM;
FF or MF]
2. The second preference shall be given to solo performances
[ by which I mean songs, instruments, mimicry, poetry, talks or presentations
or anything else ] of members who have NOT done a duet.
3. The third preference shall be given to members who would
like to do a solo or a duet who have already performed in 1 or 2 above. In case
the number of requests in this category exceeds the max possible songs, we
shall have a draw for this category.
I believe this way we would be able to ensure that every
performer shall get at least 1 performance at the minimum in every program.
We have not yet come to a conclusion on how to manage the
sequence, but would be able to do so in the coming weeks.
I would welcome any suggestions for improvement and look
forward to a musical Samvat 2071 with all of you !!
