CORPORATE DATABASE

Akshay:

Yesterday , Sanjivani emailed to you a database of Indian Companies , totalling some 6.3 lakhs

Following is the background :

·         This is authentic database , published ( in a CD ) by Department of Company Affairs ( Govt of India ) , some 15 years back . Later on , they discontinued this practice of publishing . By now , a lot of it could be obsolete
·         It was on a READ ONLY format but we managed to crack the code
·         There were many duplications ( same company operating in 20 different cities or operating in 5 different “ Industry Names “ ( diversified companies )
·         Total no of “ Industry Names / Categories “ , were running into several hundreds, with a lot of overlap / similarity .
·         Whereas , we had finalized a list of some 60 / 70 , broad “ Industry Names “ for our online Corporate Database
·         I had to spend many weeks , “ Mapping “ the DCA CD database to our database, using some Mapping Tool / Logic , developed by us . I also eliminated many company names and removed a lot of junk !
·         I am still hoping that Satish , with help of Sachin , do manage to find current online Corporate Database of approx. 2.7 lakh companies ( on B2BmessageBlaster or on CustomizeResume ) , arranged Industry Name wise

Air India Divestment

Dear Amitabh ,

In your interview on E-TV last evening , you hoped to find an “ Able “ partner who can turn around Air India

Whereas we must continue to work relentlessly to fulfil our “ Desires “ , I suppose , we must learn to resign ourselves to “ Destiny “ , in the end

Finding a Bakra ? Possible ?

Over the past 3 weeks , there is a lot of “ noise “ about selling off Air India , which has been making huge losses for years and has a current debt of  Rs 52,000 crore

Noise makers include , Arvind Panagariha , Amitabh Kant , Arun Jaitley and Ashok Gajapathy Raju ( Civil Aviation Minister ),who recently said to CNBC TV !* :

“ There are hardly any bakras around, so to get one is difficult and businessmen are businessmen

There are limitations . One thing is for sure, the taxpayer’s money cannot be committed for eternity

So, that is one problem . Failures are there on the financial front , so there are problems and these will be attended to

Arvind Panagariah has suggested that the government write off that Rs 52,000 cr debt, ( in order to “ attract a bakra “ ? ).

Better than throwing away GOOD money after BAD !

If the government is also ready to write off that other “ liability “ called “ Manpower “ , ( approx. 21,000 people ) , there is a possibility that a “ bakra “, with an ability to turn Air India profitable , can be found.

Let there be no doubt .

No one , repeat NO ONE , will want to even touch Air India , if the deal includes taking over that “ Manpower “ !

That bakra could be RYANAIR of Europe ( founded in 1985 and profitable throughout ) – perhaps the only WHITE KNIGHT capable of rescuing !

Those having the responsibility to find that “ bakra “ might want to look at the following statistics about RYANAIR :

·         Chairman …..Michael O’leary

( who , once said , “ If you have complaints about RyanAir , don’t fly with us “ . For a long time , RyanAir refused to have a Customer Complaint department )

·         Airfare

Average Fare per Passenger Flown………….. Euro  33 ( Rs 2,600 )

Dublin ( Ireland ) to ANYWHERE……………… Euro  150 ( Rs 11,000 )

·         No of Employees……………………………………….. 12,000

·         No of Employees / Aircraft………………………..        30

( 12,000 for 400 Aircrafts )

  { Air India’s No of Employees / Aircraft ……………. 178 ( 21,000 for 118 Aircrafts )

·         Employee Growth ( June 15 – June 17 )…..  12 %

·         No of Passengers flown (2016 -17 )………….  130 Million

·         Traffic Target ( FY 2024 )…………………………..  200 Million

·         No of Countries served……………………………….    34

·         No of Cities served……………………………………….  200

·         No of bases…………………………………………………..    86

·         No of daily flights………………………………………….  1800

·         No of Aircrafts……………………………………………….    400 ( 737 )

·         Aircrafts on Order………………………………………..   300  ( 737  )

·         On time Performance……………………………………    FIRST  in Europe

·         Profit ( expected for 2016-17 )……………………    Euro  1300 Million

Dear  Shri  Raju :

RyanAir’s Michael Leary is an Irishman, with its headquarter in Dublin ( Ireland )

Ireland’s next “ Prime Minister – to be “ is Mr Varadkar ( whose father hails from Varad town of Maharashtra )

How about sending a “ feeler “ to Michael through Shri Devendra Fadnavisji ?

FW: PROCESS FLOW CHARTS BASED ON OUR TIME-LINE

Mitchelle,

Pl reply after discussing with concerned

Most important thing is to ensure that this tool ( shall we call it “ Predictor “ ? ) , does not require us to enter the same data twice ( in tool as well as in FF )

Akshay,

Thanks for installing the tool on our server yesterday and processing the data of 386 FCV + 9000 others

We , now look forward to your building the “ Prediction Model “ based on these processed data and give it to us , by this week-end

Yesterday , we also discussed our entire process , step by step , along the 36 stage TIME LINE

Based on this, you will prepare a Data Capture tool , ( which will NOT require duplicating any data entry into File Finder )

This tool, by enabling creation of a “ data base “ ( instead of plain WORD documents ) , will enable us to generate different types of “ Analytics “ , in weeks and months to come

In the PROCESS SHEETS ( depicting interactions between the 3 parties concerned , viz: 3p / Client / Candidate ),
The CENTRE column will be just ONE column ( instead of the TWO , drawn in my handwritten pages ) , with the heading : “ Process Number “ , with the process itself described in the LEFT or the RIGHT column

Obviously , there cannot be ENTRIES on both the sides for the SAME “ process number “

These will zigzag , as shown

It would greatly help if :

·      Each process has been allotted specific “ Number of Days “ to complete it
·
·      Tool clearly brings out the “ Time Over-run “ ( if any ) for any Process Activity ( for each mandate )
·
·      As soon as a Recruiter logs into the tool , the first thing in the morning , she sees on the very first page , all the Mandates which she is handling , AND , tabulation showing how far behind ( lagging ) she is on the various activities . She is allowed to go to the next page , ONLY AFTER she clicks on “ NOTED “
·

As far as the possible use of PERT for tracking each mandate is concerned , you may want to look up :

Mitchelle :
If some of the “ requirements “ ( of the proposed tool ) , mentioned by me above , are already available in File Finder , then pl inform Akshay to skip those . There is no point in TWO tools giving the SAME info

RE: EmpowerMSME

Dear Ganesh,

Thanks for your message and your phone call mentioning that you have constituted a new team to work on this project

I agree that , to begin with , we focus on the CORE offering of this portal . Rest can be added ( if required ) later

It would help if you can prepare a PROJECT PLAN , which indicates ( even approximately ), when each activity / stage of the development , will get completed

To work out this , following tabulation will help :

It is interesting to understand these developments that are taking place and the need  for some of these features to be part of the proposed software portal.  As discussed with you yesterday, I am keeping a note of these features as we evolve our product platform and architecture.

Please do continue to share your inputs. We will consider a phased approach after our base platform gets ready.

Dear Team,

The following news report appeared in today’s DNA

From this initiative , it is clear that the government attaches very high importance to “ empowering “ MSME sector

I have no doubt that your team can / will come up with a portal which truly becomes a “ Library Resource “ for the students of the proposed University

We should have no doubt that the MSME Ministry and the HRD Ministry , would welcome – and support – www.EmpowerMSME.com

Let us remember that the Students of the proposed University would be regular / frequent visitors of our portal ( in order to download documents / drawings / reports etc for their TERM WORK / PROJECTS )

May be we could allow them to :
Submit their resumes on this portal
Forward the same to selected MSME of their choice

This ( feature ) would make EmpowerMSME , quite like a typical “ Job Portal “ – and we may consider adding this feature at some later date , if such a “ Suggestion “ comes from the MSME Ministry

It would help to put this project in the 4th gear !

Regards,
Hcp

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Micro Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) sector will soon have its own university, which will run all professional courses on the lines of Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs).

The MSME Ministry has recently proposed this idea and wants to establish an institute with the help of Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD). The ministry has already identified a 31 acre land in Hyderabad for setting up the university.

The idea is to establish a centre of learning that can generate employment opportunities for students in the MSME sector.

While the exact nature of courses that will be offered is still being finalised, sources in HRD ministry said they will be industry-based courses. Courses like Mechatronics, 3D printing, reverse engineering, simulation and more such courses will be developed for the institute.

As per the guidelines finalised for the institution, it will work on market-need based research, consultancy and commercial purposes and the revenue generated from the institution will be used for further development purposes of the institute. Similar institutes have been functional abroad in countries like China, Germany and Sweden.

The ministry of MSME has suggested three models in which the institute can be run-- as a Central University or as an Institute of National Importance under an Act of Parliament, established as a "deemed-to-be" university under section 3 of the UGC Act and establishment of the proposed institute as a standalone institute in the domain of management education under the aegis of a registered society or as a registered trust.

The ministry also proposes taking seeking AICTE recognition as a standalone management institute for enabling it to award Postgraduate Diploma in Enterprise Management.

The final module of the institute, which is likely to come up within two years is yet to be finalised.

Government plans to develop this institute as a hub of generating employment.

Through this institution, the government plans to train youth in the MSME sector.

The ministry is providing training to Class 10 and 12 pass-outs currently as well and offer them employment at the end of the course. This university, however will be a an attempt to give their courses value equivalent to an IIT degree.
