Sandeep,
According to you , we currently pay to Big Rock , approx. Rs 1200 ( $ 15 ) per month
On the face of this, Google Cloud prices ( of n1 – standard 1 = $ 5.6 / n1 Standard 2 = $ 11.26 ) , seem reasonable
To these prices , how much need we add for “disk usage, network bandwidth, public IP “ ?
After adding , how much could the Grand Total become ? Does it still remain competitive with Big Rock ?
If “ Spot prices can change , once every 30 days , there is uncertainty
Are there any other “ hidden costs “ ?
On the balance of considerations , should we not continue with the CERTAINTY of Big Rock ?
As far as the recent issue of PORTS not working is concerned , could we not avoid by DAILY checking – and then immediate reporting to Manoj in case of any problem ?
Besides , as Sharon has pointed out , keep logging in 2 / 3 times per day
Hcp
Hi Sandeep,
Below are few configurations on Google Cloud for your reference.
Machine type | vCPUs | Memory | Price (USD)/month | Spot Price* (USD)/month |
n2-standard-2 | 2 | 8GB | $85.15012 | $18.75078 |
n1-standard-1 | 1 | 3.75GB | $41.61 | $5.6356 |
n1-standard-2 | 2 | 7.5GB | $83.293 | $11.2639 |
e2-standard-2 | 2 | 8GB | $58.75478 | $18.2427 |
Notes:
- Prices are in US dollars
- *Spot prices are dynamic and can change up to once every 30 days, but always provide discounts of 60-91% off of the corresponding on-demand price for machine types
- The estimated fees provided by Google Cloud Pricing Calculator are for discussion purposes only and are not binding on either you or Google. Your actual fees may be higher or lower than the estimate
- Refer https://cloud.google.com/
compute/all-pricing for more details - These are vcpu/memory cost, there will be separate cost for disk usage, network bandwidth, public IP.

Dear Manoj Sir
I spoke with Big Rock Team about ports stopping.
As per Big Rock the Server Managed by us they don’t have any Control to Manage server.
Due to high CUP utilization on 1 June Port SSH , Port 80 and 443 were stopped working.

Dear Manoj Sir
Regarding the recent port blockages that have occurred. It is understandable that you are concerned about the sudden blocking of these ports, particularly since they are crucial to accessing the site.
Unfortunately, I cannot speak to the specific reasons why these ports were blocked as I do not have access to that information. but will find the root cause of this issue and update you soon.

Hi Sandeep,
Did they give any reason why ports were blocked, after it worked for months?
Since these are important ports, and site won’t be accessible if disallowed. Why suddenly ports were blocked?

Manoj Hardwani
Dear All
I have coordinated with Big Rock Team and Port 80, and 443 open from backend.
Now website – www.hemenparekh.ai is up and running.
Hi Sandeep,
There seems no issue on the server on site configuration, site is working internally within the server, command and screenshot below.
Command: curl https://www.hemenparekh.ai
There is no issue with CPU and RAM usage, command and screenshot below.
Command: htop
Firewall settings allowed for ports 80, 443, 22. command and screenshot below (please note, after server restart firewall is set to inactive automatically and it has to be manually enabled)
Command: ufw enable
Command: ufw status
The main is Issue is - Site is not accessible externally/publicly though required ports are enabled and Internally site and access working, as shown above.
Publicly, when I use telnet command to test different ports, I can connect to port 22 only, while 80 and 443 are not accessible. For the site to be publicly accessible port 80 and 443 should work.
Command (from local machine): telnet hemenparekh.ai 22 - working
Command (from local machine): telnet hemenparekh.ai 443 - not working
It seems BigRocks has blocked ports 80 and 443 for this server for public access.
Can you please share the above information with BigRocks team and get the resolution. I will be available for the call with their team if required.
Regards,
Manoj Hardwani
JFYI… screenshot below showing site (html rendering) is working within the server. Also firewall settings, showing required ports are allowed

Manoj Hardwani

Subject: Re: SITE DOWN
Hi Sir,
Issue is not with Personal.ai, but on the hosting server itself.
Site is running internally on the server, but public access is stopped. Since there were no changes on the server from our end, no changes in firewall settings as well.
I need to troubleshoot the issue, will update you as soon I find something.
Regards,
Manoj Hardwani
