Hi Friends,

Even as I launch this today ( my 80th Birthday ), I realize that there is yet so much to say and do. There is just no time to look back, no time to wonder,"Will anyone read these pages?"

Constructing Graphical Marketing Messages

Shuklendu  /  Nitin,

Enabling our Subscribers to construct  Graphical Marketing Messages  , is not a " One Shot " affair

I look upon it as a " Work-in-Process " , which will have many revisions / iterations / versions , in the weeks and months to come

Hence , we must  NOT  attempt finality / perfection , to begin with

Our attempt should be to introduce do-able ,  features / improvements , in  small steps  and in quick succession- where each modification takes less than ONE DAY's development effort

With every such " improvement " , we will learn ( - if we set up a form for subscribers to give immediate feedback )

As the FIRST STEP , I suggest making following changes to our " Compose Message " page :

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*  Provide one Search-box , which reads :

    Show me Graphics / Images for ( type keyword which closely describe the product / service that you wish to market )

    <..................................................>  SUBMIT

When subscriber enters any keyword ( say " Fridge  /  Insurance  / TV / Software Development " etc  ), enter into Google ( Images ),

following Search String :

<  Ads for (   Keyword ) >

Then show those  IMAGES that Google finds , to subscribers , with a caption on TOP which reads :

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

" You may want to use one of these GRAPHICS / IMAGES in your Marketing Message . If so , copy-paste into the " Compose Message " box "

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You may even consider showing images that appear from search string ,

" clip arts free download for ( TV ) "

I suppose all subscribers know how to download / copy-paste these Images into " Compose Message " box

Important thing to remember :

Over the years , Google has scraped / stored / indexed , billions of Advertisements , both plain text and graphical

Google spider has scraped these from ,

*  Corporate web sites

*  Ad Agencies Web sites

*  TV Channels web sites

*  Print Media web sites

*  Publishing web sites

*  Online / Mobile Ad Networks.........etc

Any advt published online , anywhere in last 5 years , is available for download from Google  !

Sure , most cannot be re-used as it is . But most can be modified easily  !

And showing these to Subscribers , gives ideas , as to what can be done

Freely downloadable clip art can be used straight away without worrying about COPY-RIGHT violations

ONE  MORE  THING  :

I do not quite remember " why " , but we are  NOT  allowing a casual visitor to actually use / compose a Marketing Message

Do you remember , why ?

If you do not have a strong reservation , I suggest , we allow ANY VISITOR to be able to compose message - including the facilitating feature which I described above

Only , we disable the " SAVE " button , unless he is logged-in as a Subscriber

We may even provide a " DOWNLOAD YOUR DRAFT " button ( including to , casual visitors ) clicking which , they can download their DRAFT , - to finish / finalize it OFF-LINE , then log in and UP-LOAD into the " Compose Message " box

I believe modifying our COMPOSE TOOL in this manner , will encourage many more visitors to , actually become regular Subscribers , later on

If there are any questions , feel free to phone

Alternately , I can even visit your office
