Subject: Hey, this one’s for you!
Hey Hemen Parekh,
As they say, the written word goes down in history. But as we say at Youth
Ki Awaaz, the written word carves the future. In the last two months, Youth
Ki Awaaz (YKA) saw a rapid expansion of its writers' community, and I am so
happy that you are a part of it.
We overhauled a few things and built out some new ones, and I want to share
them with you. I also want to know directly from you what more we can do to
improve your YKA journey and experience. But first, let’s get to a quick
rewind and what we have in store:
1. Publish your story in 5 seconds? Yes, please! We recently completed 14
years
<https://newsletters.youthkiaw
and launched a brand new website experience
<https://newsletters.youthkiaw
.The writing platform, the speed and the overall experience have improved
drastically. This will help you build your own community on YKA faster. The
publishing is almost instant! And if you face glitches with the new tech, we’re
here to support you. Just write back and let us know :)
2. Is there a poet hidden inside you? We’re listening! On World Poetry Day,
YKA launched its poetry section
<https://newsletters.youthkiaw
and it’s been thriving
<https://newsletters.youthkiaw
. Hundreds of community members are writing powerful poetry on everything
from stigma
<https://newsletters.youthkiaw
to imagining a world with superpowers
<https://newsletters.youthkiaw
. 200+ poems were published for National Poetry Writing Month. The community
is building strong, and it's time for you to share your poetry with the
world. Because trust me, we have big plans lined up for the poets of YKA :)
3. Celebrating Dalit Joy on Twitter, and how: This Dalit History Month, we
hosted conversations on Twitter Spaces, attended by 1000s of people. In the
coming months, we will be doing more such spaces and if you’re not following
YKA on Twitter (not just for the spaces, but a lot of fun chit-chat too),
then you can do so here
<https://newsletters.youthkiaw
.
4. Justice for all needs its own stories. And we’re here for that. YKA’s
Justice Makers Program with Agami and Ashoka's Law for All Initiative saw
over 150 powerful community-based stories from over 50 writers from across
the country. You can read them here
<https://newsletters.youthkiaw
.
5. And on another (critical) note, with the heat stress hitting us across
India, if you’re not following YKA’s climate change campaign, #ZeroSeHero
<https://newsletters.youthkiaw
you should do so now. We’ll be collaborating with cabinet ministers and MPs
and trying to find solutions to our climate crisis. Next week on 6th May, we
will be hosting the next #PolicyParCharcha with Member of Parliament Pradyut
Bordoloi. Be sure to follow us here
<https://newsletters.youthkiaw
to keep up.
With over 130K writers on YKA, adding nearly 100 new writers a day, and your
stories reaching over 70 lakh+ people a month, we are committed to making
your voice matter. I want to know directly from you how we can improve your
writing experience, and help you build your own YKA community.
Please do reply to this email and share your feedback and I’d love to build
YKA stronger with you.
And lastly, here’s a song
<https://newsletters.youthkiaw
you might like - for the odd days when you feel like some good music, but
not the ordinary :)
Hoping to hear back from you soon.
Anshul, Youth Ki Awaaz
