Subject: Invitation to join WASME Entrepreneurship Alliance
Respected
Colleague,
Greetings from
World Association For Small & Medium Enterprises!
During the last
three decades, NGOs have played an important role in developing countries. Thanks
to their contribution, many gaps have been discovered and filled, the almost
nonexistent state social system replaced, and many small businesses built up
and supported. During this same period, the world has changed politically,
economically and socially at a very fast pace, even in developing countries. We
are sure that this is the time when we should change our attitude and make the
switch from NGO to social enterprise.
We wish to make the
point that there is no reason for the work of NGOs to be less professional and
efficient than that of private companies. For many people, NGO - a vague and
negative concept embracing very different realities - now has unfortunately
become a synonym for amateurism, improvisation and begging. The “NGO explosion”
of the past years - especially in the developing countries, like India - has
surely contributed to this perception.
Keeping in mind the
above and also as per the outcomes of various research/studies and seminar
organized by WASME, we are in the process of building an Alliance of Civil
Societies/Private Companies called ‘WASME ENTREPRENEURSHIP ALLIANCE’
with a key focus on promoting Social Enterprise and to develop Nation –
Wide service delivery modal. (Detailed concept note is attached)
The aim and
objective of the alliance will be:
A.
To develop a chain of Civil Society
Organization/Private Companies, who believes in ‘Social Entrepreneurship’
B.
To develop a common platform to share ideas, best
practices, experiences and to develop a common sales platform to ensure revenue
generation out of the products and services offered by Civil Societies or Self
Help Groups
C.
To conduct joint activities, like trainings to develop
competitiveness among Social Enterprises
D.
To implement joint projects duly funded by Mother NGO
(In our case ‘WASME’) pertaining to Community Mobilization, Capacity Building
and Skills development
E.
To work as a pressure group and act as a policy
advocacy agent and to provide inputs based on the practical learning to the
concerned Policy Makers and other stakeholders.
F.
To ensure sustainable development of Civil Societies
and at the same time encouraging communities to adopt social entrepreneurship
G.
To develop other programs, projects, campaigns,
research and study model based on the feedback received from Civil
Societies.
But, nothing is
possible without your kind guidance and cooperation. In this context, it’s our
great desire to request you to support this alliance by joining as an eminent ‘MEMBER’.
We are sure that your valuable inputs, experience and our joint effort will
ensure our success and we will be able to achieve our goals in an effective
manner.
Detailed Concept
Note and membership registration form is attached herewith for your kind
perusal; however you may register online at www.wasmeprograms.org. You may find the
registration form a bit exhaustive, but we need the relevant information to
work together. Feel free to revert back if you need further clarification or
the assistance.
Expecting a
positive response
Best Regards
