Sub : New Features of File Finder
We look forward to attending tomorrow , the Webinar on
the new features of File Finder
Perhaps you are aware that we have created in our FF ,
profiles of some 54,000 executives
Over the coming years , we would like to increase this
database to over 500,000
But even with 54,000 records , the real problem is to
keep these records up-to-date
This appears an impossible task considering that 2
research-assistants can , between them , update no more than 50 profiles per
day
At this rate , it would take 3+ years , to update
all !
By that time , once again , 95 % of the profiles would
have become obsolete !
As in case of LinkedIn / Facebook etc , profiles can remain
up-to-date , only if the executives themselves update their own profile ,
whenever they wish
This can only happen if :
> Executives " see " some benefit in
doing so
( " What is in it for me ?
" - type of motivation )
> They have some " method " to
update their profiles thru login
(not just email latest text resume but
EDIT a structured form )
Here are our suggestions for your consideration :
A... WHAT IS IN IT FOR ME ?
Not only in India but
all over the World , executives at all levels are very keen to know their own
" Market Value "
They are anxious to know , how their current salary
compares with the salaries of their Co-Professionals , in the economy as a
whole and in their own Industry - Sector , in particular
If I am a ,
> General Manager ( Designation Level )
>
Marketing (
Function )
> 45 years
old ( Age )
> Graduate Engg ( Edu
Qualification )
> working in AUTO industry ( Industry )
> 25 years of
Experience ( Experience )
then ,
how does my current salary compare with " similar
" executives elsewhere ? ( A true , Apple-for-Apple comparison
)
A Salary - Distribution Curve ( may not be a
truly Normal Distribution ) , showing my percentile position amongst ( say ) ,
435 Co-Professionals , would be of great interest to me !
In return for such " Analytics " , I would be
happy to EDIT my structured profile frequently - and on my own !
We believe , if we can incorporate such a feature in FF
and make it " Accessible " to the executives , then they would feel
motivated to keep their profiles up-to-date
Some years back ( 2007 ) , we had attempted such a
feature in our web site ,

B... PERSONAL ANALYTICS
With the data ( about each executive ) available in FF
Database , we would request you to consider introduction of ,
PERSONAL ANALYTICS
This would automatically " generate " , 8 to
9 graphical profiles of an executive
The " sequence " of these profiles can be
" customized " by the executive concerned
You can see this feature on our current web site , at ,

C... ACCESS TO FF
We appreciate that it may not be possible - or desirable
- to grant direct access to the executives to FF database , in order for them
to update / EDIT their structured profiles
However , we think , it should be possible to provide
to them , an Interface ( with FF ) , in the form of a web site ( to be called
),
which would carry a STRUCTURED FORM
We may even consider initially " populating "
this online database on our own - and programmatically - , by " mapping
" with contents of FF
Then send User Name / Password to each executive , to
enable him to :
> Future EDITS
> Access , " Salary Comparison "
& " Personal Analytics " graphs
In turn , his EDITED form would be migrated to FF to
update the FF database - again automatically
For executives belonging to
> HR function
and at,
> General Manager level ,
we may enable them to access ANY salary - graph of any
demographic profile ( any function / designation level / age / marital status /
gender / edu quali / industry / exp etc )
This would enable them with following decisions :
> How are my own Company Executives placed (
salary-wise ) , vis-a-vis the Industry norms ?
> Is there a need for my company to revamp its
Compensation Structure ?
> Which of my current executive is most likely
to resign in near future ?
> What salary package I should offer this
executive who I just interviewed and found excellent , without upsetting my
internal Apple-cart ?
