Hi Friends,

Even as I launch this today ( my 80th Birthday ), I realize that there is yet so much to say and do. There is just no time to look back, no time to wonder,"Will anyone read these pages?"

Subject: Invitation to join a Citizens' Dialogue on a better world after COVID-19

Hi Hemen,

The world faces multiple challenges in 2020. From the global threat of climate change, to the rising inequality gap, to millions without access to clean water or food, the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated existing injustices locally and globally.

Yet the period of recovery that will follow the pandemic opens up a unique opportunity to pause for a moment and imagine a world that is better than what it was before. We have witnessed the tremendous resolve of citizens, governments and organizations in fighting the virus and mobilizing massive resources to save lives. As decision-makers turn their attention to social, economic and environmental recovery, now is the opportunity to channel this energy into building a more fair and just society.

To this end, we are pleased to invite you to join the Citizens’ Dialogues to help answer the question: “What decisions do we need to make now so that future generations will be proud of us?” You will join a small group of fellow citizens to express your opinions, share your values and ideas, and jointly discuss and create a shared vision for a post-COVID-19 world that is better for people and the planet.

Organized by Civis in partnership with Missions Publiques and the World Economic Forum, the citizens’ dialogues are an important process to raise key citizen concerns and perspectives. The results of these discussions will be used to help shape the direction and priorities of our global recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic, through platforms such as the World Economic Forum.

The dialogue will take place on 4th Dec'20 between 5:00 PM to 7:30-8:00 PM or  6:00 PM to 8:30-9:00 PM (based on the most preferred option selected by the participants) online.

If you are interested in joining the discussion on a vision for a better post-
COVID-19 world, please RSVP here - https://forms.gle/JcpJiBtePDCTszRHA by Wednesday, 2nd Dec'20.

Please note: We have limited seats available and registration will be on a first come first served basis.

If you have any queries, please feel free to respond back to this email.

Best,

Antaraa
