Hi Friends,

Even as I launch this today ( my 80th Birthday ), I realize that there is yet so much to say and do. There is just no time to look back, no time to wonder,"Will anyone read these pages?"

FW: SITE TRANSLATION IN DIFFERENT LANGUAGES

 Kishan ,

I hope your exam today went well

I want to send a blog ( which I am preparing ) as an email to Pm Modiji , urging him to launch  www.NaMo.ai  , just like mine

Its INPUTS will be his own past SPEECHES ( - may be in TEXT form , if AUDIO inputting is not possible by personal.ai )

It should be able to accept SPOKEN questions ( in as many Indian languages as possible ) AND , give out SPOKEN answers ( in his own voice ) , in that same language

For the upcoming 2024 election , this could be a powerful REACH-OUT tool for engaging in a DIALOGUE with millions of Indians ( he has 20 million subscribers for his YouTube channel )

But before I send him this mail , we  must have our own site with these features , which he could visit and experience for its potential

Can you do this by coming SUNDAY ?

Uncle

Subject: SITE TRANSLATION IN DIFFERENT LANGUAGES

Kishan ,

Earlier we had planned to integrate “ Speech To Text – STT “ , after you deploy that 16 Foreign language droplist

Idea is to enable visitors to “ listen “ to the “ answer “ , in their chosen language

Vishesh however pointed out something which is obvious , viz :

Why does a visitor ( say ) selects either GERMAN or TELUGU  ?

Most likely she does NOT understand  what the whole site is about , since the Text of U / I , is ENGLISH – a language she just does not know / understand  !

So the first thing we have to do is to provide on our Homepage ( prominently ) some FREE FEATURE , which when selected , will Translate the ENTIRE site into the chosen language

Upon asking , BARD gave following reply

Hemen uncle

Absolutely! There are several ways to achieve what you're looking for, and even some free options available. Here are a few:

Free Website Translation Tools:

·         Google Translate Website Translator:

·

·         This tool allows you to paste your website URL and it will generate a translated version in the chosen language. You can then display a dropdown menu or flags on your website linking to these automatically translated versions. While the translations might not be perfect, it's a quick and free way to get started.

·

·         Open Translate Plugin

·

·         This plugin for WordPress websites integrates with the Open Translate API to offer on-page translation directly on your site. Users can choose their preferred language, and the plugin will dynamically translate the content. The free version has limitations on languages and features, but it's a good option for small sites.

·

Freemium Website Translation Tools:

·         TranslatePress

·

·         This multilingual plugin for WordPress offers a user-friendly interface for manually translating your website content. It also has automatic translation features and lets you manage translations visually directly on your pages. The free version offers basic features for translating up to 2 languages. Paid plans unlock more languages and advanced features.

·

·         Weglot

·

·         This cloud-based translation service works for any website platform and offers both automatic and professional translation options. The free plan allows you to translate up to 2,000 words and includes features like automatic language detection and URL mapping.

Other Resources:

·         Hiring Freelance Translators

·

·         You can hire freelance translators to manually translate your website content. This offers the highest quality translations but can be more expensive than other options.

·

·         Crowdsourcing Platforms:

·

·          Platforms like CrowdFlower and OneForma allow you to crowdsource translations from a pool of freelance translators. This can be a cost-effective option, but the quality might not be as consistent as professional translators.

·

Tips for Choosing a Website Translation Tool:

·         Consider your budget

·

·         Free tools are a good starting point, but paid tools offer more features and better quality translations.

·

·         Think about your website platform

·

·         Choose a tool compatible with your website platform or content management system.

·

·         Evaluate the translation quality

·

·         Check samples or reviews to see how accurate the translations are.

·

·         Look for ease of use

·

·         Choose a tool with a user-friendly interface, especially if you plan to do manual translations.

·

I hope this information helps you find the best solution for your website translation needs. Feel free to ask if you have any further questions!
