HP Labs Suggestion :  You can write code on your portal to get the download numbers and also the mobile number if needed.
For ex: You  can have a registration page before download where the user gives a mobile number and the url of the android widget will be sent as an SMS. This way you can  get the mobile number.

As mentioned below, users can choose to download the 'My Job's Widget' from your website. We will provide you the link which you can provide on your website.  You can build your application to count the numbers of widgets downloaded from your website.

I strongly feel that , we too , should provide such a facility to jobseekers visiting CustomizeResume web site

Reason ?

When we launch our promo email campaign to 47 lakh jobseekers, they will visit our web site by clicking a link embedded in our email, taking them to a page titled “ My Jobs “ ( planned to be uploaded this morning )

On this page , they will find a link to “ My Jobs “ URL of Android Market

But, many of these visitors may not take that trouble !

They may , however , choose to download the widget directly from our site

In such a case , we can even capture and display ( Counter ) : No of Widgets downloaded from this Site :………

If possible , I would request you to guide Shuklendu re technicalities
