Yesrerday
evening, Hardik told me that he plans to upload these pages this morning
I
suggest that he , simultaneously upload
following pages as well :
Have
I missed out any ?
Of
Course , for the time-being , instead of URL of Android Market ( for
downloading of widget ) , we will show the http://tinyurl.com /……… on these pages, wherever mentioned
We
will replace this as soon as widget gets hosted on Android Market in the next 3 to 4 days
I
presume there will be two hosting as follows :
Uploading
of the new pages ( mentioned above ), will tell us how these will appear to the
visitors and whether some small changes are required
While
uploading these pages , please also hide links
to a few other pages that we discussed during my last visit to your
office
As
far as dCom>XML issue is concerned, I have told Hardik to go ahead with the
solution that he had shown me thru TeamViewer a few days back
We
can always change it when Abhi sends us the code
From
our side, today is the D-Day , come hail or high water!

Advertisements
Can you tell us what
is the plan on placement of product ads on widget? i.e. where & when will
the ads appear?
As a general
principal, we feel that the ads should not crowd out the main content of the
widget, which is the matched job alerts shown to the jobseeker. This is also
the primary objective of the widget and www.CustomizeResume.com.
The Jobseeker
definitely understands that since this is a free service, the cost of
maintaining the infrastructure has to be provided by revenue from advertising.
This is a standard revenue model on web anyway. So jobseeker will accept
product ads being shown. But if we show too many ads, he/she will be put off
and may not visit again. This will affect the “stickiness” of our service. We
want the jobseeker to use the widget again & again.
Can we get guidance
from ‘User Experience’ experts at HP Labs, since they will have better insight
into the psyche of the users?
Loading
Speed
As you know, we are
trying out many strategies to improve the speed of the web server pages. At the
end of all our curent optimizations, we are getting increasing confidence that
speeds at server side will be good.
Apart from the time
taken at server, there are 2 more components to the final perceived time taken
at mobile, the network time and the time taken by widget to process server
output & create UI. We have very little control over network time. If
possible, you may want to take a review of the widget code, to see if any final
optimizations are possible.
Thanks
Shuklendu

Do you think we can
finish the balance work by Thursday ?
In which case ,
Revathi can upload widget on Android market on Friday ( HP don’t work on
Saturday )
Then, on Saturday,
we can upload those new pages, with URL of widget [ on Android market ]
And we can start
the promo email campaign on next Monday- Nirmit’s birthday
There could be some
small cosmetic improvements here and there, which do not affect the working
of the widget and which we can carry-out after the launch
Pl phone me after
reviewing with your team
Regards
Hcp
PS :
On Saturday , “
Resume Search “ was not working !
