Hi Friends,

Even as I launch this today ( my 80th Birthday ), I realize that there is yet so much to say and do. There is just no time to look back, no time to wonder,"Will anyone read these pages?"

RE: RG Backup Process

Reena

I am glad about your initiative to streamline this entire process of back-ups and make it work like a clockwork.

You will recall that nearly 8 s/w developers worked for over one year to develop / launch Recruitguru.com. But, when we recently wanted to incorporate RecruitGuru’s parsing logic into CustomizeResume, we discovered that some files of that code are missing !

Let us ensure that this never happens again.

Regards

hcp

Dear Reena,

Below are my Comments for the following Questions asked:-

1.     The current ongoing process to take backup (Daily/Weekly/Monthly) of Local servers.
Weekly.
2.     The current ongoing process to take backup (Daily/Weekly/Monthly) of Local machines.
No Ongoing Process.
3.     The current ongoing process to take backup (Daily/Weekly/Monthly) of Reliance Server (IDC)
Every Weekly, but stored on RELIANCE SERVER kept at IDC.
But a New Process had been decided to collect Recent Backup, Monthly in our External Storage Device.

I.e. by personally going to Reliance IDC.
4.     All the activities conducted to take the backup, whether on the server, external storage device etc.
Local Server’s Backup and Online Code for CusotimizeResume Website on External Storage Device.
Reliance Server’s Backup is kept at Server’s itself i.e. at IDC.
Will Follow the new process to have Reliance Server’s Backup on our External Storage Device.
5.     Where the backup is stored? (Server or external drive).
Local Server’s Backup and Online Code for CusotimizeResume Website on External Storage Device.
Reliance Server’s Backup is kept at Server’s itself i.e. at IDC.
Will Follow the new process to have Reliance Server’s Backup on our External Storage Device.
6.     Where the old data stored?
We keep Last Two Backup’s in our External Drive.
7.     Where the old user’s data stored? (Local Machine Data).
External Storage Device.
8.     What type of data is stored on local machines? Can we use centralized directory on server to store the data?
Resources Related to our Current Ongoing Projects (www.customizeresume.com) and some useful Tools which we have Developed and still Underdevelopment.
Regarding Centralized Directory, We do have ‘RGSERV3’ as Local Server serves for VSS in which our CustomizeResume Website Code is being placed. Some Common software’s are being placed in ‘RECRUITGURU’ Machine, again centralized.
9.     How you take website backup? How frequently?
Website Backup’s are taken in External Storage Device every Weekly and before any changes to be incorporated we do also taken a backup at our RELIANCE SERVER kept at IDC.
10.  How you take database backup? How frequently? Can you create a batch file to take full database backup?
Online Database Backup, taken every weekly and is stored on RELIANCE SERVER (IDC).
Local Database Backup, taken every weekly and is stored on our External Storage Device.
As mentioned earlier for Question 3, will follow the New Process being set.
11.  How do you access old user data backup?
Old User Data Backup is centralized in ‘RECRUITGURU’ Machine and One Copy is being stored in our External Storage Device.
12.  Is there any data still lying on old user’s machine?
No. We have gathered up our required Projects, Tools the rest we have deleted thus availing much spaces.

Thanks and Regards,
Alexander.
