Can We Help Unemployed ?

Dear Deshmukh

Can we help unemployed ?

True, we cannot issue appointment letters to young men / women of Maharashtra on behalf of thousands of employers.

But we can certainly enable millions of unemployed Maharashtrians to “ Apply “ against 164,693 live / current jobs on my website

                                              www.CustomizeResume.com

We can even enable them to  blast their resumes  to

Ø    39,232 ………….Employers

Ø      5,674……………Recruitment Agencies

And all this for  FREE !

Problem is :

Millions of these unemployed do not know about my website. I have neither money nor a grass-root organization to publicize my website.

And if we do come across a person who has both the money as well as a grass-root organization, he is bound to ask :

“ Why should I promote your website ? What is in it for me ? How do I benefit ? “

I believe you know such a person – Shri Uddhav Thakre of Shivsena.

I also believe

Ø    he would want to popularize Shivsena amongst these unemployed millions

Ø    he would like to project himself as a leader who is doing something positive / concrete about helping Maharashtrians find jobs all over India and does not merely bemoan against “ outsiders “ coming and grabbing local jobs.

And we can help him do just that.

Here is how  :

Ø    Shivsena’s website is  www.Shivsena.org

Ø    On their homepage, we will help them create a link which reads, “ Jobs Wanted ? Naukri Pahije ? “

Ø    Clicking on this link will display a “ Jobseeker Registration Form “.This will be identical to same form on our site.

Ø    Each Shivsena Shakha will need a PC / Internet connection

Ø    A signboard outside Shakha will boldly proclaim.

“ Shivsena Employment Exchange – Free Registration Inside

Ø    Shakha Pramukh will help unemployed jobseekers to fill-up online Registration Form on Sena’ website.

Ø    Jobseeker data captured on Sena’s website will get automatically copied / transferred to our website

Ø    For each registered jobseeker, and everyday, our website generates a “ My Job Alert Page

Ø    This page lists up to a max of 50 perfectly matched job-advts for that jobseeker. This matching is done ( of course, thru our match-making software ), by comparing his resume with those 160,000 + job-advts in our database. This database keeps growing everyday, by approx. 1000 advts, thru a process of “ Aggregating “ from several job-portals.

Ø    once a candidate has registered on  www.Shivsena.org  , he never again needs a PC / Internet connection to visit any jobsite or conduct an online job-search

Ø    All that he needs is a low-end / non-GPRS mobile phone to,

---   Access “ My Job Alert Page “

                  ----  view all jobs

----  apply against any job, directly using his mobile to send an SMS to our web server.

How this can be done is explained in detail on my website. Of course, this method will be also explained

on    www.Shivsena.org  website  thru simple / easy-to-follow visual diagrams.

Ø    All thru this process of registering / pulling job-alerts on mobile thru SMS / applying from mobile using another SMS etc., our own website will completely remain in the background. No one will know that it is our website which is actually “ powering “ Sena’s website.

Ø    All credit will go to Shivsena when those applying from their mobiles get interview-calls ! A hugh

      publicity indeed !

Ø    You are aware that most small towns in Maharashtra have very poor internet connectivity in homes. But most do have a cybercafé where a jobseeker can go and register himself on www.Shivsena.org , only once. However most young jobseekers even in such small towns do own a mobile !

I would like to propose this idea to Shri Uddhavaji.

I would appreciate if you can organize for two of us to meet him for approx.30 minutes at his convenience. Of course, we would need access to PC / Internet wherever we meet.

After you have had opportunity to go thru this mail, do phone me.

With regards

retire Early

Retire  Early ? No way !

That is what Indians seem to be saying.

French insurer Axa Life Insurance asked workers in many countries, what should be the ideal retirement age. Here are some answers :

Ø   India  …………………………….    61 years ( from current 58 years )

Ø   Hong Kong / Indonesia …… 55  years

Ø   China  ………………………………  54  years

Apparently, residents of Hong Kong seem to be most assured about their post-retirement income, with 55 % of them availing of early retirement and a mere 17 % working till normal retirement age !

Compare this with 70 % of the Indians, who continue to work till their normal retirement age.

And that applies to only 10 % of the 460 million Indians who work in the “ organized sector “.

Balance 90 % of Indian workers don’t even know the concept of “ retirement “ ! Happily or unhappily, they start working as a 5 year old child and continue till grave !

Cakewalk

Cakewalk for Jobseekers ?

Here are some interesting findings from a Nielsen India Study conducted in Dec.2010 ( Times of India / Jan 12, 2011 ) :

Of the 626 Indian male executives surveyed,

Ø  85 % believe clean-shaven men get to attend meetings and   travel out of the office

Ø  86 % felt, when it comes to promotion, clean-shaven men have upper hand

Ø  73 % said women like to accompany clean-shaven men to party

Of the 414 women bosses surveyed,

Ø  90 % preferred clean-shaven men

Ø  79 % felt clean-shaven men have successful careers

Ø  66 % believe getting a job is a cakewalk for clean-shaven men

Ø  66 % prefer taking a clean-shaven man to meet her parents

At least in India, bearded men seem to face a bleak future !

Blessed are the clean-shaven for they shall inherit the earth !

One Stop Shop

One-Stop-Shop  Job  Search

Even for frustrated / desperate Indian jobseekers, there is no need to spend endless hours conducting job searches on umpteen job portals.

And “ Submit resume / register / remember User IDs  / Passwords / login / apply online “, on each of those job sites, day after day.

All they need to do is to register at a “ Job Aggregator ” site such as

IndiaRecruiter.net

On search term [  Job Aggregator ], search engines ranked IndiaRecruiter.net as follows :

Google  ……………………………………  1  /   2.5  Million results

Yahoo  ……………………………………..  4  /   18.7  Million results

Bing  …………………………………………  3  /   929,000  results

But we are trying to make ourselves obsolete ( before someone else does ! ), by launching

RE: SMS Country profile & Quotation

Dear Urmila

Thank you for mail.

Right now we have no requirement for bulk SMS service.

You may  take a look at our Job Alert on Mobile Service at   www.CustomizeResume.com

At the moment it is FREE for the registered jobseekers.

However I would be willing to consider changing it into a PAID service if , thru a strategic alliance between our organizations ,we can share the revenue, where you promote it.

Strategic Alliance

Dear Mahesh

Thank you for the courtesy extended during my visit yesterday.

Thru your tie-up with the Dept of Post, iCodeCity is able to reach out to millions of jobseekers.

This reach could be further accentuated if you manage to tie-up with 939 State Employment Exchanges.

On an average, some 10,000 jobseekers register at each of these Employment Exchanges every year !

That is nearly 10 Million registrations per year.

In his “ Kotak Institutional Equities “ report,

“ 365 Mn : Can India live up to its demographic dividend ? “
( as reported in DNA / Oct.21,2010 ),

Akhilesh Titolia says :

Ø  23 / 25 million Indians will become eligible for work every year for the next 15 years

Ø  Out of these, 12 / 13 million will actively look for employment every year

Ø  There will be 365 million young Indians by 2025

Only problem is, Employment Exchanges do not have a live / current / searchable database of jobs which these 10 million registrants can proactively search.

In 2009, between them, these 939 employment exchanges could find jobs for only 3 lakh jobseekers.

At this rate, it will take them some 130 years to find jobs for all those who have registered !

This will remain a totally hopeless situation until someone enables these jobseekers to stop waiting patiently and start searching for jobs “ proactively “.

But most of these jobseekers have practically no access to PC / internet. How can they search jobs ?

But nearly all of them have a mobile phone.

This is where www.CustomizeResume.com comes into picture – by enabling these jobseekers to PULL onto their mobiles, perfectly matched jobs and then further enabling them to “ Apply “ against any of those jobs directly from their mobiles without a PC / Internet connection !

This is real empowerment !

No more endlessly waiting for some recruiter to come and conduct a “ Resume Search “ on your website and chance upon your resume.

We can provide such an empowerment thru a strategic alliance between our websites.

I now await for a positive response to my proposal handed over in person yesterday during our meeting.

With regards

hemen  parekh

Feedback Form

Rohan

Do you remember some months back we had a “ CONTACT  ME “ button on each resume ?

When clicked, this enabled a recipient recruiter to fill in a small form. When “ submitted “, our server would email this message to the concerned jobseeker.

For some reason we discontinued this.

If, however, we succeed in tying up with Reliance BigTV for a job alert channel, then we must reintroduce this.

Apart from “acknowledgement”, the form should enable recruiter to enter :

Ø  Meet us for an interview on …………..(date )…..at…….(time )…….venue………..(address)

Ø  Upon arrival, contact……………..(Name of Interviewer )

Ø  Confirm by phoning………………..( Phone No)

Then we should be able to deliver this message to the BigTV Server, which, in turn, would display it on the job alert channel of the concerned Channel Subscriber.

This could prove to be a great attraction to subscribe to the job alert channel and make it truly “ interactive “

Do think about this.

Job Alert Channel on BigTV

Dear Vishal / Khalid

Enclosed find a comparison of Job Alert on Mobile – JAM – services of Naukri / Monster / Timesjobs.

Earlier, during my visit to your office, I have given you a comparison between

Ø   DishTV + Monster  Job Channel  ( note : this is NOT a job-Alert channel )

Ø   BigTV   + CustomizeResume  Job Alert Channel

In his seminal essay ( Marketing Myopia ), some 40 years back, Theodore Leavitt wrote,

If you don’t make yourself obsolete, someone else will.

That was before DTH broadcast / Internet / Mobile phones.

If he were to re-write today, he would say,

“ Either you make competition irrelevant or get ready to become irrelevant yourself.’

For all we know, DishTV may already be working on,

                                        Video Interviewing is easy

Next.

How can we make Job Alert Channel to self-advertise ?

Here is one possibility :

When a Job Alert Channel subscriber “ Applies “, our server delivers ( emails ) his resume to the concerned Recruiter / HR Manager.

From such a resume, we will remove all links / references  to   www.CustomizeResume.com

Then replace these with

Ø   Reliance BigTV Logo

Ø   “ Why you’ll simply love us “ write-up from your site

Ø   A hyperlink to the “ Jobseeker Registration “ page on www.BigTV.co.in

Whenever this recruiter forwards that resume to anyone , the hyperlink will stay clickable !

If that job-advertiser happens to be a Recruitment Agency, there is a very good chance that , over the months, he will forward that resume to dozens of his Corporate clients. Just check-out with your own HR Manager how many resumes he receives daily from Recruitment Agencies.

This could become the ultimate “ viral marketing “ – the “ holy grail “ !

With regards

Hemen  Parekh
