UN Report

Mobiles can reduce poverty, says UN study.
[ DNA / Oct.16,2010 ]

UNCTAD Information Economy Report says :

“ Poor people often don’t have access to vital information on issues such as current market prices, weather reports and new opportunities for earning income.

The penetration rate of mobile phones is increasing as the technology is affordable for the poor to purchase and use “.

This is borne out by the fact that getting Job Alerts on Mobiles and applying against those jobs directly from mobiles, is fast catching-up in India.

In India, mobile penetration reached 60 % in Dec 2010 and cheapest handsets dropped to $ 20 /-.

Now compare this with internet penetration of just 1 %

Amongst millions of Indian jobseekers, Job Alert on Mobile is becoming a favorite pass-time !

Dear Mr. Parekh,
Yes I have discussed this and there are still some questions. This might probably be better to do face to face. If you are planning to drop by Chennai any time soon, let me know. I can call in my middleware and/ or tech people for a chat.

Dear Mr. Iyengar

This has ref to our telecom a few days back when you mentioned that you would like to discuss my proposal with your technical team

I am confident that the technical people on both the sides can come up with a solution which needs very little bandwidth- eg:  “ pulling “ onto the subscriber’s TV screen, just ONE job alert [ of 5 kb ] at a time, when the subscriber sends a “ jam_alert_subscriber ID “ SMS . If he feels like applying, he will send “jam_apply_job Id” SMS to 9756510001

He can repeat the process any no of times

And , instead of charging Rs 50/- in advance for 1 month usage, you may deduct just Re 1/- per job alert delivered onto his screen.

I have explained this ( draft ) working at “ JOB CAFÉ “ page of my proposal

Awaiting your early response

A salary cut

A Salary-cut is better than a Job-cut !

A survey by the Internal Affairs Ministry of Japan revealed following for year 2009 [ Source : DNA / Oct. 16, 2010 ] :

Ø  Average income of single women [ under 30 ]………..$ 2680

Ø  Average income of single men     [ under 30 ]…………$ 2640

Ø  Increase in women’s income [ over 5 years   ]……(+) 11.4 %

Ø  Decrease in men’s income    [ over 5 years   ]……( - ) 7.0 %

In most other countries, women are least concerned about catching up or overtaking their male counterparts when it comes to salary.

They are far most concerned about getting a job in the first place !

What about men in these other countries ?

They would happily accept a 25% cut in their salaries to keep their jobs !

Subject: JAM -- Job Alert on Mobile

Dear  Deshmukh

I hope you had an opportunity to go thru all of my emails.

Attached find a news item that appeared in DNA yesterday.

This is a very strong validation of my proposal. The fact that as many as 2.4 lakhs jobseekers queued-up to register for a single vacancy within 2 days is an undisputable proof that , possibility of getting a job / any job , is the most powerful motivation for millions of unemployed.

Imagine the political “ mileage “ that MNS must have managed to get when 23,000 job-aspirants queued-up at Dadar-Mahim stall !

If MNS, with its very limited ground-level network can manage to get 2.4 lakhs candidates to “ register “ within 2 days, I have no doubt, Sena , with its vast network of Shakhas can get 50 lakhs candidates to fill-up the forms within 50 days.

You are talking of garnering Rs. 10 Crores in 50 days !

It is important to stress that MNS “ gimmick “ of delivering 2.4 lakh applications to Railway Board is a onetime / passive postman’s job.

And they plan to continue to keep accepting applications till 15th Feb., by which time, the total may well cross 10 lakhs !

How many months will the Railway Board take to enter these into their computers ? Then shortlist ? Then call short listed candidates  for interview ?

As against this, under my proposal, Sena will

Ø  daily deliver a no. of “ perfectly matched “ jobs to registered candidates on their mobiles

Ø  enable those jobseekers to “ Apply “ against ALL of those jobs directly from their mobiles

And this entire process will take no more than 24 hours !

And Sena will be offering this service on a “ Life-time “ basis !

Imagine no more queuing-up in hot sun for hours – then waiting for weeks / months , without even so much as an acknowledgement that your resume has reached the advertiser.

If there are any questions, feel free to phone me [ 9867550808 ]

Pay per Use Job Alert Channel

Dear Himanshu

During our meeting on Feb 02, you also mentioned the likely resistance from d2h subscribers to pay Rs.50/- per month for Job Alert Channel.

In that case, we can make it a “ Pay-per-Use “

You deduct Re 1 /- from subscriber’s prepaid account every time he “ PULLS “ job alerts on his channel, by sending an SMS. This way, he can limit his expenses on Job Alert Channel.

In my proposal folder this is explained at “ Job Café “ page.

A Job Alert Channel ?

Dear Mr. Radhakrishnan

On Jan 28, I read in Times of India :

“ BCCL floats TV distribution JV “

I do not own any TV channel – nor the required finances to launch one.

But, I have offered to all DTH Operators, services of my website

                       www.CustomizeResume.com

to enable them to launch a “ Job Alert Channel “ that would converge on a single platform,

Ø   Internet

Ø   DTH  TV

Ø   Mobile Phone [ non-GPRS ]

If you wish to explore this revolutionary concept further, I would be happy to come over and meet you.

Feel free to phone me on [ Mumbai ], 98,67,55,08,08
