Dear Mr Hemen Sir,
Extremely sorry for the inconvenience caused..  In the last 2-3 days,  we had to change the backend cloud server to a different one. While doing so, we were testing the Job widget to see whether it will work well with the new server, and for this we had brought down the old server couple of times (for few minutes only).. It is possible, that the testing from your side happened at those moments.
In fact, we had made the widget such that even when the backend server changes, it should adapt itself.. There was a minor problem with that feature.. We have now corrected it and would like to release a new version of the apk..  I was actually going to write to you today about this issue and release a new apk file..

Please find attached the new apk files. Please test it once and let us know if the functionality is ok..  Apologies once again..

I am not sure if the errors you mention is same as the above server-related error or something to do with Akash 2 port.  In either case, I request Mr. Shuklendu to let us know the details of the error faced on Akash2.  We have ordered one unit of Akash 2 online and awaiting its delivery. Meanwhile, if you could send us a tablet, we will be glad to test it out on the same.

 Thanks !

Best regards
Geetha

Dear Bhushan

For past 2 / 3 days , My Jobs is not working properly – sometimes , not at all

Yesterday , I re-installed it , without improvement

Here is feedback from Amit Goyal ( who replaced Jasjit Singh at Datawind as VP-Platform Strategy ):

We tested My Jobs app and it didn't seem to work. Most of the time it fails to launch and if at all it goes to the next step, an error pops up in indefinite loop

On Friday, I emailed APK file to Prof Rahul Deshmukh, Head-CDEEP, IIT-Bombay, for installing and testing on Aakash2

Prof Deshmukh is heading the team at IIT-B, which is developing apps for Aakash2

By a copy of this email , I am requesting Shuklendu to talk to you and explain the error-messages being received during operation

I would appreciate if Prosonjit could look into this on priority basis

As mentioned in my last mail , Teracom may have started pre-installing My Jobs on their tablets by now

I have also sent APK file to another 30+ tablet manufacturers ( with User Name / Password ), with a request to install and test

RE: Non Disclosure Agreement

Dear Mr. Hemen,
Thanks for your email… The earlier NDA signed by you was for usage of SiteOnMobile services.. The current discussion is about source code of an application we have delivered.. I have been having discussions with the concerned HP business to see if we can release the source code to you ..

As you will appreciate, since it is NOT a normal practice to give source code to even paying customers (who buy the app), these discussions have not been easy… . Having said that, we will work through this to find a solution – as a special case.. Sorry for the delays..

Dear Geetha / Bhushan

You will recall my recent request for giving us ( me / Shuklendu ) , the Android related source-code for My Jobs

You responded that this could be done by signing a Non Disclosure Agreement ( NDA )

While going thru my old emails , I remembered that I have already signed and sent to you such a NDA , as you can see from the following emails :

Aug 09 , 2010 / 11:37 AM

Hello Mr Heman & Mr Rohan

Thank you for the signed NDA. We will dispatch a copy from our end today.

Hello Mr Heman and Rohan

We received the NDA today. Thank you. Shall send the signed copy of NDA
as requested early next week.

We have created sample tasklet named "job"  from your website
rahul/rahul1234

Besides this NDA , I have already confirmed – and repeat here – that I will neither part with the source-code with any other party , nor use it for any other purpose than to enhance the performance of My Jobs , with a view to popularize it

Given this background and my assurance , I would highly appreciate if you could kindly email the code to me , ASAP

Only yesterday , Mr Jasjit Singh of Datawind confirmed that the 100,000 Aakash2 , to be supplied to IIT-Bombay in Oct / Nov , will carry “ My Jobs “ pre-installed

Last week , I also got positive indication from Swipe Telecom ( Pune ) that they are seriously considering pre-installing My Jobs on all of their tablets

Thanks very much for the update on the Jobs Widget.  I am sorry that I too did not touch base with you for a long time.

I appreciate your efforts to improve the usage of the Jobs widget, and do look forward to a time when the Job widget can start making ‘real’ advertising revenue.

I am in principle fine with sharing the source code of the Job widget, but we may need to go through a small non-disclosure agreement to ensure that the code is not used for any other purpose nor is it re-distributed or open sourced.  Let me check if we have such forms. I will get back to you by next week for the same.

Meanwhile, I suggest that we promote our SMS and voice interface for the Jobs widget to get more from the masses to continue to use your portal. SiteOnMobile  is still live and we will be adding more features as well.

Wishing you well.

Dear  Geetha

It has been quite a long time since I updated you on the latest about  My Jobs widget  which you developed for RecruitGuru

This is where it stands at the moment :

Ø   It has been integrated with InMobi Ad Network and can be downloaded from our web site as well as from Google Play

Ø   Datawind , not being happy with the fill-rate of InMobi , have tied up with Yahoo Ad Network

Ø   Yahoo model will be CPM ( InMobi is CTR )

Ø   Despite a wait of over 6 months , Datawind has , so far , not received Yahoo SDK

Ø   Till this time , neither My Jobs nor other apps selected by Datawind , can be integrated

Ø   In the meantime Datawind also ran into difficulties with regard to specs from IIT-Rajasthan and deliveries from QUAD corp

Ø   Govt asked IIT-Bombay to come up with revised specs for Aakash2 , which they did

Ø   Datawind delivered 1000 samples ( as per new specs ) to IIT-B , which were tested and approved

Ø   Aakash2 is expected to be launched by Kapil Sibal on Sept 22

Ø   Datawind has to deliver 100,000 tablets to IIT-B , as per new specs

Ø   Now Datawind has started sourcing tablets from some Chinese manufacturer

Ø   As far as their commercial ( non-govt ) versions, Ubislate 7+ and Ubislate 7C , are concerned , Datawind are sourcing the same from VMC Corp – Hyderabad

Ø   So far there is very little publicity – and , consequently very little usage – of My Jobs Widget

Ø   My efforts to persuade other tablet manufacturers to pre-install My Jobs , continue

As soon as there is any significant development , I will keep you informed

In the meantime , is it possible for you to send me the source-code for My Jobs widget ?

I am not interested in your Tasklet Technology based code . Just the Android code for the app

This will help us to quickly carry out small improvements on our own , without imposing ourselves on your valuable resources, again and again

I await your favorable decision

No doubt , major credit goes to the teams at SiteOnMobile and Sentient Systems

I feel vindicated !

Now , let us try and deliver those job alerts to millions of jobseekers in the farthest corners of India , in a language of their choice

Congratulations to you all

I am grateful to Datawind for granting me the status of a “ Student “ – which, for me , is the ultimate award

From yesterday , every time I try to use My Jobs widget , I get an error message saying that CustomizeResume web site is experiencing some technical problems and to try later

I understand that you are all working to solve this problem but I am still worried !

Only from yesterday , after a break of 15 days , we have re-started promo emails to jobseekers , informing them that ALL Aakash / Ubislate tablets are now pre-installed with My Jobs

These tablets are expected to be in the hands of the users , in another 8/10 days

By end of this month , approx 10,000 tablets will be delivered to buyers EVERY DAY !

From now on , it is CRUCIAL that the widget works without hitch – and flawlessly – 24*7

If the initial users get disappointed / frustrated , a negative buzz could start , permanently damaging  OUR  reputation

I keep checking the proper working of the widget , a few times everyday . I request you to do likewise so that any problem gets detected early enough

I await your early feedback
