What for ?
For accepting my suggestion to assign Aadhar ID to all children at birth
Where did you read this ?
Following report :
Aadhaar enrolment soon to be available for newborns in hospitals: UIDAI CEO Saurabh Garg
( Eco Times / 17 Dec 2021 )
Extract :
Having enrolled 99.7 percent adult population of the country in Aadhaar, the Unique Identification Authority of India ( UIDAI ) is gearing up to offer Aadhar Card facility for newly born children in hospitals, soon
Saurabh Garg, Chief Executive Officer, UIDAI (ceo@uidai.gov.in ) said,
“ We are trying to tie-up with the registrar of births to give Aadhar numbers to new-born babies. They will be provided with an Aadhar card by simply clicking a picture when the child is born. So far, we have enrolled 131 crore population and issued them Aadhar cards “
“About 99.7 per cent of adults have Aadhaar cards and children from age of zero are issued cards, for which there are different protocols for capturing biometrics at different age.
We don’t take biometrics for children below 5 years , but link it with one of his parents, either with mother or father. After the child crosses the age of five, their biometrics are captured “, informed UIDAI CEO
It is estimated that there were nearly 24.1 million births in India in 2020. Thus UIDAI will be enrolling around 2 – 2.5 crore babies in Aadhar every year
Nearly 10 crore people update their names, addresses, mobile numbers every year
Out of 140 crore bank accounts, 120 crore accounts have been linked with Aadhaar
More than 300 schemes of the Central government and 400 schemes of the state govt schemes have been linked with Aadhar
The UIDAI is looking to leverage 80 crore smartphones present in India
UIDAI is looking at using smartphones as a universal authenticator as it looks beyond OTP, IRIS and fingerprints as a mode of authentication.
“ There are about 80 crore smartphones and we are looking at how they can be developed as universal authenticators. “

When did you suggest Aadhar for new-born ?
In my following e-mail :
SARAL (Single Authentic
Extract :
At birth of a child , parents will submit child’s data ( Name / Birthdate / Address etc ) on,
Up to the age of 12 , parents will submit / edit, all data about the child
From 12 to 18 , data submission / editing will be done jointly with the child
From 18 onwards, child ( who has turned adult ) will maintain data
Is there similar process in any other country ?
Yes. Here is how a new-born gets his ID in Estonia :
Astonishing Estonia ……………………………….[ 28 Dec 2018 ]
Extract :
Lessons from Estonia :
“ Now we will register our child,” Andrejs Lunde says with gravity as he inserts his ID card into the card
reader. And just like that, Oskar is Estonia’s newest citizen. No paper. No fuss
Have you made any suggestion re using smart-phone for authentication ?
Yes
Here is my e-mail suggesting “ merger of all ID cards into ONE card and displaying on Mobile as Single / Unique ID “ :
I am One , I will become Many…………………………………………. [ 06 May 2020 ]
Extract :
How about making lives of Ordinary Citizen easy by having just ONE CARD to replace all these cards ?
Now, since my original suggestion of 2013, technology has made huge strides
Time has come to dispense with all physical cards and merge all of those into , one VIRTUAL CARD
The method of “ merging “ of all identifiers [ cards ] , must NOT require a citizen to fill up any FORM , online or offline
Following is my suggestion :
Ø Central Govt to launch a online portal called, www.SUIIC.gov.in
( Single Unified Identity for Indian Citizen )
Ø By appropriately enacted Law, Central Govt will order all CARD ISSUING AGENCIES to upload their “
Card Related Databases “ onto SUIIC web server and continue to do so DAILY for new additions to their
Databases
Ø SUIIC will use AI - Machine Learning - Big Data Analytics etc., to merge / collate all kinds of structured
/ unstructured databases pertaining to all kinds of Cards / unique IDENTIFIERS, issued by any entity, to
any citizen
These will include Mobile Service Providers and E Mail ID providers
Ø This exercise will lead to creation of UNIQUE PROFILE for each citizen, and named :
YUP ( Your Unique Profile )
YUP ( with unique serial number ) will be that SINGLE CARD which replaces all CARDS
Ø YUP will also be the name of a Mobile App supported by SUIIC web server
Ø Any citizen can download the YUP ( absolutely VOLUNTARY ) , open it on his smart phone , enter his
mobile number / E Mail ID and take a SELFIE of his own FACE
Ø The Mobile App will automatically and instantly, upload the FACE IMAGE onto SUIIC database and the
matching YUP of that person
Ø SUIIC will embed into the FACE PHOTO , all data of all the CARDS ever issued to that person ( using
STEGANOGRAPHY ), and send it back to the owner’s mobile phone
Ø Just under the FACE PHOTO, there will be a DROP LIST of all the Cards / Identifiers which have been
embedded . Touching any item, will reveal the actual Physical Card
Ø This will enable that citizen to EDIT his personal data online and click SUBMIT
Ø Anytime required in future, that citizen can show that YUP photo to any party
Ø There will be no compulsion for any citizen to use YUP . He may continue using his Physical Cards, if he
so desires
According to you, what will be the next evolution of “ Aadhar at Birth “ ?
Following is only a matter of time ( not a question of “ if “ / only a question of “ when “ ) :
Aadhar : The Omnipresent ? …………………………………..[ 22 Mar 2017 ]
Extract :
I hope , someday soon , an India Start-Up comes up with a digital solution ( pasting, a unique RFID sensor on the forehead of each child , at birth ? ) to get rid of all the CARDS , a person needs to acquire in a life-time ,
