Dear Arindrajit,
I am glad you liked my suggestion
As to the “ fake news “ , the question is not :
Ø How
( technologically ) can we solve this issue
Question is :
Ø How
badly we want to solve this issue
Answer is :
“ Capital
punishment “ for users ( of social media ) spreading fake news
Mechanism :
# IndiaDataCustodian web site will compile log
of online activities of all users
# From this , an AI software , would decide if a particular posting
is fake
# From that point onwards, IndiaDataCustodian
will stop “ authenticating “ that
particular user whenever he
clicks “ Log me in with IndiaDataCustodian “ , on any
web site
# This will bring a DIGITAL DEATH for
that user for the rest of his life !
I don’t think the Social Media web sites are themselves really
interested in black-listing any user
And government just does not have manpower resources to monitor
billions of daily postings

Dear
Mr. Parekh,
Many thanks for sending this across. I think it is a great idea to
figure out a way in which we get compensated for the value of our data. I fully
agree with the submission.
However,
my question for you is-How do you reckon that this would solve the issue of
fake news being spread through the platforms? E
Warmly,
Arindrajit.

Dear

Just came across
your article :

Where
you write :
Given
the complex nature of the legal, social and political questions involved here,
the quest for a ‘silver-bullet’ might be counter-productive.
Instead, it is essential for
us to take a step back, frame the right questions to understand the intricacies
in the problems involved and then, through a mix of empirical and legal
analysis, calibrate a set of policy
interventions that may work for India today.
Do you think my
following suggestion ( sent as E mail to Cabinet Ministers / NITI Aayog /
Anurag Thakur etc ) , could work in India ?
If not , does
anyone have a better idea ?
