RE: CV for job opportunity

Dear Gaurav

Thank you for sending your resume

I suggest you register on our website  www.CustomizeResume.com

Once you have registered on    www.CustomizeResume.com   there is no need for you to visit any jobsite – not even ours !

Here is why :

Ø  We, aggregate / compile / collect,  job-advertisements from several websites. So, you get to see these all, at a single location – our website.

Ø  You don’t need a PC/Internet connection in order to search suitable jobs – then find one [ after hours ] and then apply

Ø  Everyday, we “match” your resume with 200,000 job advts. &  create “ My Job Alert “ page of 50 perfectly-matched jobs (max )

Ø  To see these jobs, from your mobile, send SMS :

                              jam<space>alert ….  to  ……         9756510001

Ø  If you wish to see details of any particular job, send following SMS :

              jam<space>detail<space>job no   …  to   …  9756510001

Ø  If you want to apply for that job, send following SMS :

              jam<space>apply<space>job no  …   to   ..   9756510001

That’s all ! Within seconds, your resume will get emailed to advertiser.

Repeat this process again and again till you have seen all matched jobs. Some old jobs expire and new jobs get added everyday.

Why do you need PC/Internet when all that you need is your mobile ?

Why should you spend Rs.15/hr at a Cybercafé when you can use our FREE service ?

And there is no reason why you cannot search jobs / apply from your office [ boss notwithstanding ! ].

Do share with friends your unique “ Job Search Game “ . Good luck.

Regards

Shifting of Servers

Rohan

I refer to our telecom a little while back.

I have talked to Kailas / Shreyash and asked them to draw up a detailed plan for shifting of the web servers from Reliance to our office

The steps to be taken are :

Ø  Install / commission TATA 2mb dedicated line by 19th latest
Ø  By same time, install 3 KVA / 30 min APC UPS
Ø  By consulting Kaizen International ( and any other experts on the subject ), purchase and install , strong FireWall / Anti-Spam softwares
Ø  Immediately inform IndiaInternet re desired change in IP addresses, clearly telling them precisely when this should take place

In the meantime Kailas is trying to fix for me an appointment with some senior executive of Reliance IDC on next Monday to settle the issue of their claim of approx.Rs.2.5 Lakhs for their past bills going back to year 2004 ! Unless we settle / make payment, Reliance will not allow us to remove the servers from their premises.

To begin with, we will move out only one web server initially [ on 29th inst ], which caters to CustomizeResume and IndiaRecruiter.

If this works out well, we will move the second server [ 3p / Strategic HR ], by end of next month

I have given a target to Kailas / Shreyash to ensure that CustomizeResume website is once again up and running by 1st May

I would appreciate your guidance / help wherever you can

By a copy of this email, I am also requesting Shuklendu to help Kailas / Shreyash, wherever he can

I need your help

Dear Abhi

I need your help !

Here is my problem :

Ø  Reliance IDC are claiming from us some Rs.2.5 Lakhs for web-hosting services going back all the way upto year 2004 !

Ø  Starting Oct 2010, we received from them, bills for “ Excess “ traffic [ over and above our plan for 25 gb / month ] for nearly 1 lac rupees !

Ø  We noticed [ from log ] illegal / unauthorized traffic from some IP addresses in Canada and China. By blocking these IP, matter was brought under control last week but once again yesterday traffic recorded 4 gb in a single day – mostly from Chinese origin

Ø  Apparently, some Chinese sites are “ managing “ to use our server to send out emails

Ø  As a result, this morning, we disabled IMail server on www.CustomizeResume.com .Of course this means that the visitors to our site cannot use email-based services [ apply online/ resume blast / Be an Entrepreneur , etc ]

In light of all these problems, we have decided to move our web server [ for CustomizeResume ] to our own office on 29th April

We are expecting a dedicated 2 mb TATA broadband line to be installed / commissioned on next Monday.

We are also ordering a 3KVA / 30 min APC make UPS

My two in-house engineers who will execute this project are Shreyash and Kailas

I believe, hosting our website in house will require some special Firewall / Anti Spam soft wares. It is possible that you would know what these are and are in a position to advise Shreyash / Kailas

I would highly appreciate if you could guide them over phone [ Shreyash- 0-9920028222 / Kailas – 0-9920066989 ] or on 670,70 395

Thanking you in anticipation and with regards

RE: Updates - RE: City wise search functionality on JobSuggest Page

Rohan

On Saturday afternoon I sent you an email from home, saying that on my PC at home, I could view only cities from A to B ( Bhilai ) at Job Search

I immediately checked with Shreyash in office and asked him to check up.

When he did, he could view ALL the cities ! So I concluded that there was something wrong with my home PC !

Using TeamViewer, Shreyash tried to locate / correct fault on my home PC but could not.

Now this morning, Shreyash / myself find the same problem from office.

Do you suspect there is something wrong with our settings / browser ? We are unable to see cities beyond Bhilai.

Any way , I leave it to you to decide what you can do and what cannot

Hello Uncle,

Let’s not introduce new changes and features or re-introduce something when we are beginning Handover. Perhaps these new changes could be taken up by new team.

As you are aware Abhijit is new and before he could actually take a dive inside and become more productive, you have terminated the contract and introduced new Vendor. (I remember even Priya took at least 2 to 4 months before she actually could be productive for major changes in the portal) Thus major changes in the features are not possible at this stage.  What we can certainly do is have the city search but the existing site framework having lots of spaghetti and unmanaged code makes it complicated and time consuming to handle large no of advertisements. We are certainly working to optimise the performance but if that demands major changes then those would be abstained.

Also, we were somehow managed to get Alex onboard for this Handover and transition so let’s completely focus on Transition to new team in light of your short notice period.

Thanks,
Rohan

Rohan

I took a cursory look at the “ City wise job search “ and experienced what you describe.

I am sure you will find a practical answer which loads , not only the drop list of Cities fast, but also loads fast, the large no of job advts within a given city.

Perhaps something like the Alphabets [ A  B  C  etc ] found in Resume Blast page.

Talking of Resume Blast page, I have a vague memory that , above each display, “ Total No of Companies ( or was it “ records “ ? ) was shown as a Counter. Now it is missing. It  would be nice to re-introduce this. Counters show transparency besides impressing visitors.

In my recent mail , I had suggested introducing such counters for “ City wise Job Search “ as well.

Apart from this, can you please add following extra “ write-up “ on “ Job Search, Job Suggest “ Page, right below the existing write-up ? – in different color ?:

Note :

  • It is not necessary to select all the search criteria for conducting a job search.

  • If you wish, you may select just ONE search criteria ( any ONE ), and click “ Get Results “.

  • Many jobseekers [ especially fresh graduates ] are interested in jobs in a given city [ may be their home town or a nearby town ]. For them, a job in any industry / function and offering any designation / salary, will be good enough. They realize that remaining “ unemployed “ for a long period after graduation, becomes their biggest “ disqualification “ in the eyes of the recruiters. They are advised to select ONLY any city, leaving out other search criteria.

Once “ City wise “ Advertiser / Employer search gets introduced on the Resume Blast page, after seeing the U/I, I will send you additional page write up.It will be quite similar to the above

Hello Mr. HCP,

Just to update

Though we have uploaded the revised City-wise job search functionality just now on Job Suggest/Job Search page, we are facing major issues after uploading in prod environment due to high volume of records matching the city. Work is in progress to fix these issues and optimize the performance. All of us i.e. Abhijit, Shivani and me are working on this issue.

Will update you as soon as this is done.

Dear Mr Singh

Thank you for writing. Somehow, I did not get your yesterday’s mail

I suggest first you spend some time studying “ Job Alert on Mobile - JAM “ page on our website. This will explain how the JAM works.

To be able to “ PULL / RECEIVE “ matching jobs on his mobile from our website, a person must “ Register “ on our website – which means, he has to upload his resume on our website first.

Now, if you have noticed, FORM B [ which you can download from our “ Be an Entrepreneur “ page ], contains all the information required for entering on our website at “ Jobseeker Register “ page.

After downloading, take a print-out of this form. Then make several Xerox copies.

Then , SELL  this Xerox copy to any graduate who is looking for a job. But don’t tell him anything about www.CustomizeResume.com ! This is important.

Ask the jobseeker to clearly / legibly fill-up this Form B and return to you. Of course, he should also give you his usual “ TEXT RESUME “ , using ,

      Email   or
      USB Pen Drive  or
      CD

Once you have received properly filled-in Form B along with “ TEXT RESUME “ of the jobseeker, enter / upload this data yourself  (  but without telling the candidate ), on our website [ at “ jobseeker Register “ page ].

Remember, uploading of the candidate’s TEXT RESUME is very important.

Our software “ matches “ this Text Resume with the job-advertisements on our website to “ prepare / list “ the matching jobs [ for that candidate ], at “ My Job Alerts “ page on our website. In fact, you can yourself “ see / verify “ by logging in as that person [ using his User Name / Password ].

You do this “ Data Entry “ without telling him “ what “ you are doing and “  where “ you are doing !  He is not concerned with that.

He will be happy when, from the next day , he can start “ Pulling “ job alerts on his mobile and start “ Applying “ directly from his OWN mobile.

For this, you will need to give him a Xerox copy of the FORM  A [ Jobseeker Instruction Sheet ],  which explains the SMS that the jobseeker will need to send from his OWN mobile [ the same mobile no which he has given in Form B

Of course, to do the Data Entry on our website, you, yourself will need a PC and a Internet connection. May be you have a cybercafé nearby.

I hope I have answered all of your questions. But feel free to phone me on 91-022-670,70,360  in case you need any clarifications.

Remember, we are helping you to start your own business without any monetary expectations.

But, if you do succeed , do write to me. I will feel happy.

With regards

hemen  parekh

RE: Yes, You Can

Dear Mr Singh

For fixing the “ Selling Price “ for the form, you need to take into account :

Ø  Your “ Out of Pocket “ expenses such as making the Xerox copies of the forms / paying usage charges to Cybercafe ( if you don’t have your own PC / Internet ) etc
Ø  The “ Value “ you place on your own time for canvassing / data entry etc

The price should also take into account the income level of the family of the jobseekers in your immediate locality where you plan to promote / publicize your service

Then again the “ Price “ must be kept low enough to motivate these jobseekers initially to use your service.

Once this service enables some jobseekers to actually get jobs, then , automatically, on its own, the news will spread and many more jobseekers will come forward to buy the forms from you. This will be the proper time to increase your selling price.

I suggest you start with an introductory price of Rs 25
