Following
news appeared in today’s Economic Times :
“ How to
run DeepSeek on a Workstation “
Extract :
“ While
anyone can use DeepSeek’s AI chatbot, which hit top charts across app stores a
week after launch, the company’s PRIVACY POLICY clearly states that :
.. any data
shared with the App will be stored in servers OUTSIDE India. “
Dear Shri
Ashvini Vaishnawji ,
I suppose ,
this policy runs counter to our own Personal Data Protection Policy
What are
our choices ?
Ø Like TikTok , ban DeepSeek ?
Ø Just close our eyes and let users
decide what is best for them ?
If we ban
Deepseek ( which is partially “ Open
Source “ ) , then how can our thousands of developers , use its API to
create a million – VERY CHEAP or even FREE – useful apps which can boost our (
individual and organizational ) PRODUCTIVITY , by a THOUSAND times ?
Let there
be a debate before you decide
