Whenever there is a generic Company Name , you may rest assured
that the Advt has been posted by a Recruitment Agency . Almost invariably
!
On many occasions , a Company does not want either the public or
the competition or even it own current employees , to know that this is its
advt
On such occasions , it gets an outside recruitment agency to
advertize on its behalf , anonymously
On top of this , our problem is that the Job Site ads are posted
by absolutely junior clerical staff ( either in an Agency or even in ultimate
employer company )
They are asked to enter their own email IDs , so that ALL the
responses ( resumes ) are received by the concerned staff , for sorting /
reading / short listing before handing over a few , to Seniors
And , normally these junior staff , leave the Company within 6
months to 2 years - rendering the Email ID , invalid !

Even in those companies , where the staff member inserting the
advt stays on for a few YEARS , we know that he / she belongs to HR / PERSONNEL

A B2B message getting delivered properly to such a "
Permanent " employee is still unlikely to get forwarded to the RIGHT
executive within that organization
Even a small company of 50 employees , may have 10 persons
having their own " official " email IDs
A large company may have 500 Official Email IDs !
In light of this , our best bet is to replace existing email IDs
with , most popular / general / common email
IDs , which are unlikely to change
, such as :
> Contact@
> Feedback@
> Inquiry@
> Sales@
> Marketing@
But which one ?
Based on their " Frequencies of Occurrences
" in ,
> Our own database of Companies ( not very
helpful ! )
> Promo Emails which I have sent to thousands of
companies ( after getting their email IDs from their web sites )
we can derive these " percentage
of occurrence ( probability of occurrence ) "
I have asked Kailas to examine the possibility of carrying out
such an " Analysis " from my OutLook
I would appreciate , if you can show him some " short-cut
" to arrive at these percentages

I agree that best
outcome for us will be getting Company Database from DIPP. I wonder whether
that is available in normal course through RTI query or something.
Alternatively,
as you say, we need to clean our database. Instead of deleting the generic
company records, can we find out actual company name from the associated e-mail
id? E.g. company name might be ‘A leading Air Conditioning Company in India’
and the email id may be hr@bluestarindia.com.
Then we know that the company is ‘Blue Star Ltd’. Of course, the email ids may
belong to placement agents or may be general ids like gmail, yahoo, etc. Still
it may be worthwhile to take a look at linked email ids of companies with
generic names.

resulting in Non-Delivery / Bouncing

Of course , the best solution is what I have suggested to Shri

If the Company Database ( including the Email
IDs ) is provided by DIPP , they cannot complain !
We must await their response
But , if we are asked to continue with our own database (
acquired thru RSS feeds ) , then one thing is clear , viz:
In the " Email Alerts " ( when a
Foreign Company blasts its " We would like to talk to you " message )
, that we will send out to DIPP / Indian Consuls / State Industry Ministers etc
,
we will NOT provide email ids of the RECIPIENT
Indian Companies
We will just give , > Company Name >
Industry > City > State ( we will
need to add this field in Registration Form , if not done )
We may get away with this
But how can we get away with " Company
Names " that read like following ?
> Company that provides processing
services
> Confidential
> A
> Large Industrial Catering Company
> $ 20 billion Fortune 500 Company
> @Aidasinc
> A big Mnc Company
> A big MNC in Bangalore
> A CMM 5 level Company
> A fortune 100 company
> A fortune 40 global product development

> A global company
> A large IT company
In the first instance , we need to eliminate such
Company Names from our database - descriptions which create serious doubts
about our database - and rightly so too !
And , having removed once , we
must ensure that , in future , such descriptions do NOT enter our database thru
RSS feeds
If it is not possible to carry out such " Elimination
" thru some software program , I am willing to remove/highlight such
descriptions MANUALLY , with help from
Tushar / Sanjivani
May be , if you send us a SAMPLE
database , consisting of , say , 10,000 records
and ,
we HIGHLIGHT such
anomalies manually ,
then , from these highlighted portions ,
you may be able to deduce some " Decision
Rules " , to apply to the rest of the 2.28 lakh records

in case of Japan , will we in India , learn to cooperate
/ collaborate between Government ( DIPP ) and Private Sector ( B2B ) ,
to raise our " Ease of Doing Business
" rank from 142 to 1
?
