Hi Friends,

Even as I launch this today ( my 80th Birthday ), I realize that there is yet so much to say and do. There is just no time to look back, no time to wonder,"Will anyone read these pages?"

Turning 20 Million Smart Meters into a Multi-Thousand Crore Carbon Profit Center

===========================================

Dear Mr. Kandarp Patel,

AESL is executing the largest smart-metering rollout in India. You currently have a

massive execution burden—but beneath those 20+ million meters lies a hidden

"Carbon Dividend" that is currently being left on the table.

The Arithmetic of the Opportunity:

1.             The Scale

2.             With 20 million smart meters (and 30 million more targeted via the Esyasoft

3.              JV), you control the data for roughly 100 million citizens.

4.

5.             The Savings

6.             A conservative 15% reduction in household energy consumption through

7.              appliance-level monitoring (the SEEM model) saves ~150 kWh per household

8.              annually.

9.

10.          The Carbon Margin

11.          At current global voluntary market rates (or India’s CCTS mechanism), if you

12.           aggregate these savings, you aren't just "measuring" electricity—you are

13.          minting verified carbon offsets at scale.

14.

·                                             20 million meters × 150 kWh saved = 3 billion kWh saved/year.

·                                             This equates to ~2.5 million tonnes of CO2 avoided annually.

·                                             At a conservative $25/tonne, this is ~$60 Million (approx. ₹500 Crore)

·                                              in annual carbon credit revenue—pure margin, with zero incremental

·                                              infrastructure cost beyond the software layer.

·

Why this moves the needle for AESL:

·                     Solve the "Opposition" Cost

·                     When you give households the "BEEMAT" app to track their earnings,

·                      resistance to smart meters vanishes. It becomes an asset, not a monitor.

·                      You reduce the "cost of deployment" by turning it into a "value-added

·                      marketing" campaign.

·

·                     Customer Stickiness (The "ATM" Effect)

·                     You stop being a "utility" and start being the "Carbon-Credit Platform." You

·                      lock in the consumer relationship for a decade, drastically reducing churn and

·                      operational overhead.

·

·                     JV Value-Add

·                     Your partnership with Esyasoft was designed for "analytics and AI." This is the

·                      highest-value analytical application possible—moving from billing-as-a-service

·                      to decarbonization-as-a-service.

·

The Pilot:

I am offering my residence for an immediate pilot of the "Smart Meter V2.0"

 (Carbon-Incentivized)

Let us demonstrate how we can generate the first verified "Household Carbon

 Certificate" in your network.

If you can aggregate this across your 50-million-meter target, we aren't talking

about "small change"—we are talking about a multi-thousand crore annual

recurring revenue stream that sits on top of your existing CAPEX.

With regards,

Hemen Parekh
