RE: Courier received

Dear  Sree ,

To make our forthcoming meeting meaningful and productive , I felt , I should share with you the background of our past efforts in online recruitment

You will find it in the attachment - though not comprehensive

To properly understand - and appreciate - what we attempted in the past , it is necessary to revive the past portals on local network

I feel , we should revive these in the following order :

*    RecruitGuru.com   (  RG  )

*    IndiaRecruiter.net   ( IR  )

*    World - Wide - Jobs .com  ( WWJ )

*    GlobalRecruiter.net ( GR )

Only thru such resurrection , can we come to know the functioning of various features - and the source-code driving these

Only the first two are of immediate value , as far as Commercial applications are concerned

If we revive IndiaRecruiter.net on WWW , then we can also re-couple our tool RESUME RATERwith it

As far as WWJ is concerned , there is no benefit of hosting it on WWW , since the concept of sending Job Alerts to candidates , thru SMS , became obsolete with the launch of our mobile app " My Jobs " ( which needs to be serviced from our own server , instead of HP server )

What we can however carry forward from World-Wide-Jobs , is the feature to send out to Newspapers , DAILY JOBS tabulation

Concept of GR is interesting , but it can wait

What could be of greatest commercial value , is......RecruitGuru.com

Although , some Resume - Parsing ( Indian ) soft-wares are available , ours has the unique features of

*  Generating Graphical Personnel Analytics ( 8 / 9 graphs with candidates rank superimposed on the graph )

*  Highlighting keywords and making these clickable

*  Searching by Percentile Range........etc

RecruitGuru also has , a built-in Revenue Model ( I do not remember link with any Payment Gateway )

Only reason we pulled it down was that the HR guys in charge of recruitment were very conservative / ignorant !

They felt that some other Subscribers ( Recruiters of other companies ) will " Access / Steal " their resume database , if they upload those resumes from their hard-disks onto RecruitGuru server !

I suppose  attitudes have changed during past 7/8 years ! So has Marketing techniques

If , this time around , Recruiters can be convinced that their uploaded resumes are perfectly safe , RG can start generating revenue right away !

There is also another way of exploiting the power of RG - albeit without any immediate revenue , but with substantial long term profit prospects - as follows :

>    Convert RG into an offline / enterprise tool

>    Enable Employers / Recruiters to download it for FREE from our web site and install it on their servers. Registration needed

>    The tool will , on its own , read each folder on their server ( marked , " SALES " / " FINANCE " etc ) and process ( parse ) all the

       resumes lying in those folders , to create structured database

>    Tool will also incorporate a " In Box Reader cum Resume Sorter " , which will read the in-box and sort out the resumes from all

      the incoming emails and properly create separate folders for each function ( eg; sales / finance / marketing etc )

>    Tool will automatically connect up with our server and upload all the structured database , as soon as server is online

>    We will use this huge RESUME DATABASE , to develop ....www.B2CmessageBlaster.com

>    We will offer B2C to all online MARKETERS , to configure their desired DEMOGRAPHIC POPULATION , from among millions of

       resumes , and deliver AdSharp advts to theSmart phones of the candidates , whose resumes were part of the Demographic

       population

I feel , this way , we can add , may be ,100,000 resumes ( structured as a database )EVERY DAY

If there are any questions , feel free to phone me

regards ,

hemen

FEATURES   OF   PAST   PORTALS  OF  3P
---------------------------------------------------
IndiaRecruiter.net
---------------------------
*   Computing Raw Score / Percentile Score of each resume , based on pre-assigned Weightages of keywords found in the resume
*   Generating Normal Distribution Curve and displaying thereon , the standing ( relative position ) of the candidate , among our online resume database ( although not quite Apple-to-Apple comparison )
*   Arranging Resume-Search results in descending order of Raw Score ( with best resumes at the TOP of the list )
*   Recruitment Process Flow Chart ( Wizard )
*   " Doubting Thomas " page
     Any casual visitor can upload a text resume to see , generation of Function Graph / highlighting of keywords / Percentile Score / clicking on highlighted keywords to fetch Wikipedia definition ( even after converted resume gets downloaded )
*   " Rh+ " page
      Captures / stores all incoming resumes ( against any posted job advt ), into a separate folder to prevent flooding / mix-up of incoming resumes in the Recruiter's Mailbox ! Great relief !
       Arranges those ( job advt wise ) captured resumes in descending order of percentile score
*    Storing " Candidate Applications ( Resumes ) " received against each job advt , for tracking / calling for interview
*    The moment Employer / Subscribing Recruiter posts a Job Advt , suitable / matching resumes ( from database ) are displayed immediately ( for Recruiter to consider downloading ).
Simultaneously , a job alert goes out to those "matched " resumes  !
*    Feature to " Show My Past Job Advts "
      This enables a Recruiter to simply EDIT an old job advt and re-post it to save time
*    Interactive Interview Tool ( IIT )
      By far , this is the best feature of IndiaRecruiter.net , enabling , a Recruiter to interview a candidate sitting in his front or a candidate sitting in another town ( thru Skype and IIT screen , occupying Recruiter's screen vertically )
As IIT  proceeds , it captures / creates following retrievable / searchable database for each candidate :
#   Who ( got interviewed )
#   When  ( time / date )
#   For What ( position / vacancy )
#   From Where ( how you got that resume )
#   Candidate Assessment ( Customizable / visible to Recruiter's BOSS and - if desired - his colleagues , all over the country . This written / recorded database cannot be EDITED / destroyed and is available transparently to authorized persons for future reference and answering any doubts )
#   Appointment Recommendation
#   Highlighted / Clickable keywords ( in resume ) which pop up,
     *  Wikipedia definition
     *  Interview Questions  related to that keyword
     *  Answers to that Interview Questions ( helps Recruiters ! )
#   Interview Tracking
#   No need to make ANY handwritten notes
#   Members of Recruiting Panel , sitting in different cities , but joining the interview of a given candidate , can all , type their own dissenting remarks !

*  Resume Blasting ( for Jobseekers )
*  Resume Courier  (    "      )
*  Crowd Sourcing for contributing Interview Questions
*  Crowd Sourcing for refining " Weightages " assigned to keywords
*   Salary Comparison

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

World - Wide - Jobs .com
---------------------------------------------------------

*  Aggregating Job Advts from different job-portals and mapping with our own database structure for normalizing
*   Match-making of jobs with resumes , based on keywords
*   SMS-based job alerts ( from matched jobs ), using SMTP gateways of Reliance Telecom / Airtel / BSNL / MTNL ( with whom revenue-share agreements were signed ).
     This was long before Smart-phones came to India  !
*  Feature enabling Newspaper Editors to receive ( daily ) tabulation of yesterday's posted jobs ( as per their pre-selected criteria ), for publishing in their Newspapers.
    The tabulations of job-details , carried our watermark !
    Some 15 / 20 newspapers had signed up for this FREE feature !
------------------------------------------------------------------
GlobalRecruiter.net ( GR )  (  " GRPartner Web site  " in memory-stick sent to you )
-----------------------------------------------------
Idea was to create an online platform for aggregating Job-Advts and Resumes , from all job portals which become PARTNERS of GR
There was a feature whereby , anyone who does not own an existing job portal at the moment , but wants to become a GR partner , can also create / launch his own / new job portal by ,
>   Registering
>   Selecting a TEMPLATE
>   Downloading an API
All this , within a matter of hours !
( Even now , I believe , this could be a very desirable DIVERSIFICATION , for owners of many existing web sites , belonging to different domains , such as :
#  Education / E-learning sites
#  Marriage Sites...etc
They can leverage their existing Subscribers / Members / Visitors , to promote / cross-sell , their GR -PARTNER PORTAL )

All partner portals , will " PULL " from GR and display on their web sites , SAME / IDENTICAL ,
>  Candidate Resume Submission Form
>  Employer Job-posting Form

Central Server will allot each Job Advt and each Resume , a unique ID number , linked to the partner portal to which it originally belonged
All jobs and all resumes will become searchable from all partner web sites
Owner of a partner web site will promote his own portal among local Employers and local candidate
Employers will pay subscription to the Partner Portal , where they register
All online Subscriptions received by a partner on his site are centrally recorded
Partners will share a portion of this revenue with GR

--------------------------------------------------------------------
RecruitGuru.com
---------------------------------------------------------------------
This portal was for the exclusive use by Employers / Recruiters
Hence , there is no section for Jobseekers
Main Features :
*   Converting ( by parsing ) , a plain text resume into a structured searchable database of 23 fields
*   Single or Batch conversion
*   6 seconds per resume-conversion
*   No need to remain online/ logged in when Batch is getting processed
*   Generating Graphical " Personnel Analytics " for Functional background / Edu Qualifications / Tenure / Career Progression / Salary Growth etc
*  Search Engine with feature for refining the search results
*  Facility to search candidates by defining Percentile-Range

Hello Mr Parekh,

Hope all is well at your end. Thank you for the thought provoking notes & emails you have sent across.

Sorry about the delay on this but I wanted to provide you with a high level update.

We found the following entities in the soft material you gave us

GuruGenie
IndiaRecruiter
ResumeRater
GRPartnerWebsite
RecruitGuru

It is very clear that each one has a wealth of capability and knowledge baked into it and we would like to go a level deeper to understand it better.

Some of these we have had a chance to glance over the internal structure & source code to gauge capability.

Some of these are in executable form but we haven't been able to run them successfully. These projects are built across several technologies spanning the Microsoft DOTNET framework and a few legacy environments. We are facing challenges in being able to "view" these projects beyond a certain level as it would require us to recreate older Microsoft environments on our developer machines. (We are working on this)

Ravi :

RecruitGuru is the PARSING ENGINE ( containing " GuruMine " - parsing , and " GuruSearch " - the search engine )

I am glad that you are trying to recreate older MS environments , to be able to view this .

Sometime back , Source-Code of www.RecruitGuru.com , was examined by a colleague of Kartavya ( who led the team that developed RecruitGuru Parsing Engine ) . Following were his findings . I will try to get the original code from Kartavya :

Subject: Recruit Guru Code Findings

Hi Kartavya,

I have setup Recruit Guru code on the machine and database is also setup on one of our server running SQL Server. But the project is not in executable condition, please find my findings below:

·         The main “RecruitGuruWebsite” project code is referencing to compiled libraries of the other three projects (Common, Data Access and Business Layer).
·         These compiled libraries are the latest, than the project code we have for these libraries.
·         The “Data Access” is pointing to static database path to some of server, which is not configurable through config files.
·         When website is executed, it is trying to find that static database.
·         I did tried to create solution, getting all the projects at one place and instead referencing to projects (not as compiled libraries).
·         I was able to change that static database path to the database configured on our server in the Data Access project.
·         Website is not building since project code of the Common, Data Access and Business Layer are not latest. The application as a whole cannot be compiled.
·         While building the application, Visual Student list approx. 60 compile errors, pointing to missing functions in the DataAccess and Business Layer projects.

Please let me know the next steps.

Regards,
Manoj Hardwani

Dear Mr Shuklendu and Shri Hemendrabhai,

It was a pleasure meeting you.

Please see below findings by our tech lead. It seems the code libraries are not latest or missing some objects. However, since naming conventions are followed for all objects, methods and variables it should be easy to reuse any part of the code.

Hope this helps.

Kartavya Chitalia

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In order for us to prioritize & go deeper in some of these projects, we have a couple requests for you.

1) Just to ensure we (the team) are aligned on the context, could you give us a small description for each of projects in terms of the motivation, objective & capability please?

Ravi :

Find brief descriptions above ( ATTACHMENTS )

I cannot remember GuruGenie ( may be renamed it later on ) . Any way , I am going to my office after couple of hours to consult my old handwritten notes. I will photocopy whichever I find relevant , and courier to GK , by tomorrow

2) We couldn't find the source-code for GuruGenie & ResumeRater. Is this something you have access to and can send over?

Ravi:

I will try to locate these - although it is a slim chance

3) When we met in person we had spoken about a 'parser' that can convert a resume into a searchable structure. Is that part of ResumeRator or a different project? Can you send us a little more information on this so called 'parser'?

Ravi :

" Resume Rater " is a TOOL that you can download from CNet web site . It is NOT the resume-parsing engine . It simply finds the ( predetermined ) function-wise keywords in any resume , assigns weightages , total up these weightages , gives RAW SCORES , calculates PERCENTILE and then rearrange all the resumes ( belonging to the FUNCTION selected for rating ) , in the descending order of raw scores

Additionally, we have gone through your impressive hand written folder on online job fair. We think this is a great idea and are looking into how we could possibly incorporate it as an offering in our product idea for creating a market place for freelance consultants. We realize that this would be a significant undertaking and will continue to evaluate it.

Thank you.

Regards,
Ravi

No doubt , you have heard of :

Back of a Business Card Business Plan

Here it is :

*  Thru parsing , create a structured / searchable database of each and every plain text resume residing / incoming , on the PCs of the Employers

*  To Synchronize all of these resumes on every PC , through daily exchange / interchange with a Master Mother Database

Of course , I am glad , I don't need to make any pitch to any VC  !

Shrish,

I await your conclusion

Incidentally , the author of book " FREE " is  Chris Anderson

He would tell us :

Don't try to make money from combination of ResumesExchange.com + Synchronizer

Give it away FREE , in return for compiling a database of millions of,

*  Corporate Subscribers

*  Job Advertisements

*  Resumes

Then find umpteen different ways in which to monetize those databases  !

Give away a MUD-BRICK to acquire a GOLD NUGGET  !
