Hi Friends,

Even as I launch this today ( my 80th Birthday ), I realize that there is yet so much to say and do. There is just no time to look back, no time to wonder,"Will anyone read these pages?"

Subject: Displaying WidgetAlert page on Mobile

Revathi

Yesterday evening, I saw Shuklendu’s mail re Jobs Applied History

I discussed this with him over phone at length and came to following conclusions :

Ø   Even though, our server keeps track / record of all the jobs ever applied by a candidate ( whether On Line / or thru JAM ), there is no point – neither a way – to show all of these past “ Applies “ to any candidate. I believe, we have a provision to show these ALL to him on our web site. Shuklendu to check-up on this and confirm

Ø  We need to show to a Widget User, only the no of jobs from his “ CURRENT JOB ALERTS ‘ that he has already applied – so that he does not duplicate.

Ø  All jobs have a “ shelf life “ of 30 days, after which, they “ expire “ and get removed from the “ Current Jobs Database “. This means, they also get removed from the “ Current Job Alert Summary “ page AND from the “ WidgetAlert.aspx “ page

Ø  But of course, if a job gets posted today, and found “ matching “ for a particular candidate, then it will keep appearing in that candidate’s “ WidgetAlert.aspx “ page till 04 Nov 2011

Ø  Now , when a candidate initiates Widget on 10th Oct, it is possible that , from his CURRENT job alerts, he has already applied against 5 ( out of 23 ) jobs. But we cannot expect him to remember which ones !

Ø  Therefore, the Job Alerts Screen should bring out this factual position UP-FRONT !

Ø  I suggest, the display should be as follows :

Ø  If he gets to see such a page, he will only study those jobs that he has NOT applied for so far, avoiding duplication

Ø  Of course, this page will be “ copied “ by Widget from “WidgetAlert.aspx “ page.

I would request you to kindly consider this logic and, if you approve, then incorporate.

Thru such an arrangement, a user’s experience would dramatically improve and a VIRAL BUZZ will start !

Regards
