Hi Friends,

Even as I launch this today ( my 80th Birthday ), I realize that there is yet so much to say and do. There is just no time to look back, no time to wonder,"Will anyone read these pages?"

Step-by-Step Guide for You to Generate the Video on Canva

Here’s how you can create the 15-second video yourself using Canva, tailored to the storyboard:

  1. Sign Up/Log In:
    • Go to www.canva.com and create a free account (or log in if you already have one). The free tier is sufficient for this project.
  2. Start a Video Project:
    • Click “Create a design” > “Video” > Select “Blank Video” or a 16:9 template (e.g., “Social Media Video”).
    • Set the video duration to 15 seconds (Canva allows you to adjust timing per frame).
  3. Build the Storyboard Frames:
    • Frame 1 (0-3s):
      • Search Canva’s library for “solar panels” and “world map.” Drag a solar panel image and a map to the canvas.
      • Add a sun graphic (search “sun animation”) and apply a “Rise” animation effect.
      • Draw transmission lines using Canva’s “Lines & Shapes” (use grid blue, #0288D1). Apply a “Fade” or “Pulse” animation.
      • Add text: “Europe’s Solar Surge: 45.4 TWh (June 2025)” and “Solar power peaks during the day...” in a bold font (e.g., Montserrat, solar yellow #FFC107).
    • Frame 2 (4-7s):
      • Create a split-screen by dividing the canvas vertically. Label left side “Interconnected Grids” and right side “Battery Storage.”
      • For grids: Add a world map with animated lines (reuse from Frame 1). Add a green checkmark (search “checkmark”) and text: “Low Cost, Fast Deployment.”
      • For batteries: Search “battery icon” and add dollar signs (search “dollar symbol”) and a clock. Add text: “Expensive, Slow Scaling.”
      • Insert a bar chart using Canva’s chart tool: Input data (Grids: Cost 20, Time 3 years; Batteries: Cost 80, Time 7 years). Use grid blue (#0288D1) for grids and gray (#616161) for batteries.
      • Add text: “...Share it globally vs. store it expensively!”
    • Frame 3 (8-12s):
      • Search “globe animation” and add a spinning globe. Overlay transmission lines (grid blue).
      • Add solar panel and wind turbine icons (search “renewable energy”).
      • Include text: “Save Billions, Share Solar!” and “One Sun, One World, One Grid!” (solar yellow).
      • Add an ISA logo (if you have permission) or a generic solar icon.
    • Frame 4 (13-15s):
      • Reuse the globe, apply a “Zoom Out” animation.
      • Add text: “Join ISA’s Vision: Interconnect Grids Now!” and “www.isolaralliance.org” (or MNRE contact).
      • Use a bold, readable font (e.g., Montserrat).
  4. Add Audio:
    • Go to Canva’s “Music” tab, search for “inspiring technology” or “upbeat corporate,” and select a royalty-free track.
    • Trim the audio to 15 seconds. Add subtle sound effects (e.g., a “ding” for the chart in Frame 2) if desired.
  5. Set Timing:
    • In Canva’s timeline editor, assign durations: Frame 1 (3s), Frame 2 (4s), Frame 3 (5s), Frame 4 (3s).
    • Ensure smooth transitions (e.g., “Fade” between frames).
  6. Export:
    • Click “Share” > “Download” > Select “MP4 Video” (High Quality).
    • Check file size (aim for <10MB for email compatibility). If too large, reduce resolution slightly.
  7. Review:
    • Watch the video to ensure text is legible, animations are smooth, and the message is clear.
    • Make adjustments in Canva if needed (e.g., tweak font sizes or animation speed).
