Euros each annually here during the past 3 years in a row and I do see this trend
continuing this year too. Total French investment in India , now stands at $ 19

Blethon , said in New Delhi :
" We are examining proposals to set up a
factory in India . We already produce in India , Carrier brand air conditioners

GERMANY
Germany is India's largest trading partner in
Europe. Between 2000 and 2012 , the total foreign direct investment in India
from Germany , was about $ 5.2 Billion.
There are at least 1,600 German companies active
in India across sectors
* Hubert Lienhard , chairman , Asia Pacific
Committee of German Business ( APA ) , says ,
" Germany will invest in supplies and
sub-supplies for the government's smart city project. The investment could be
in the form of renewable energy supplies , water management among others for
the smart city projects "
* Juergen Fitschen , Co-CEO , Deutsche Bank and
President , Association of German Banks , said ( referring to India's Bullet
Train projects ) ,
" We can offer support in anything that
moves , be it air or rail."
Referring to India government's decision on FDI in
Insurance Sector , he said,
" Demographics in Europe make it difficult
for the business such as insurance to grow. But in this field , India has got a
lot of attraction to offer.
About 49 % is good to begin with but we are expecting
more "
* Ulrich Grillo, President, Federation of
German Industries (BDI ), said,
" FDI in insurance and defense are also
areas German companies are bullish about , but would like to see technology
transfer associated with it "
* German car-maker Audi starts production
of its A3 model in India
CANADA
* Canadian energy and utilities firm ATCO ,
placed an order worth $ 1.2 Billion on Indian software giant WIPRO , to manage
information technology outsourcing
* Canadian manufacturer , Datawind , decided to
invest $ 30 million to expand its Amritsar-based factory in India, to turn out
5 million 3G/WiFi enabled UbiSlate 7c tablets every year . Currently ,
Datawind holds 15 % of Indian tablet market share and plans to bring down the
current selling price from $ 50 to $ 25 , by mid 2015
