Shuklendu
We discussed this during your visit to our office last Friday
In the handwritten note that I gave you, I had suggested that we
drop out the graph ( in the preview ) when someone is searching “ Is this Your
Resume “ page – both, because the graph is totally misleading ( with 0 raw
score but 99 % percentile score ! ) and because of the increased downloading
time.
You said that, in this case, we cannot use the existing “ Preview
Resume “ page but will need to develop a separate page.
If we are to develop a separate page in any case, then the question
is :
Why not display all the 25 fields ( available in Ajay’s records ) ?
The second batch of 43 lakh records received from Ajay also
contains the same 25 fields and in same order ( will need to be verified
by Hardik ).
I admit that every record does NOT have “ values “ for every field.
Some fields may have no data. This is especially so case in case of fresh
graduates.
But if the database contains all 25 fields, then, when a fresh
graduate becomes a “ Experienced Professional “ with a few years of experience
– and Edits his resume to include / incorporate the missing data, then neither
he nor we , will have any problem !
During our discussion sometimes back, you had, in any case
suggested to keep ONE / SINGLE / COMMON registration page for both the fresh
graduates as well as experienced professionals.
If so, this would certainly require a much more comprehensive and
common database.
If you and your team agree then let
us see how the “ Preview Resume “ page and the “ View Resume “ page ( at “ Is
this your resume “ page ) will look like.
Can we make these both pages look “ identical “ – except for the
graph ?
I have asked Kailas not to start
uploading of the second batch of 43 lakh records till we finalize this issue.

I
found this in Google Labs
Looks
interesting. You may want to try this for all the pages of our site to see what
has Google to recommend to speed up loading of candidate records in “ Is this
Your Resume ? “
At
the current speed of loading ( both, the” no of records found “ and the “
Resume Preview “ page ), I am afraid, many visitors will get discouraged and go
away.
I
also think, introduction of counters at Page Statistics, ( Resumes Viewed :
Total----- / Yesterday--------/ Today-------- ) is very important. That alone
will tell us whether anybody is visiting this page and searching. We must know
whether our effort was worth or not !

PS
On
the whole, page has come up well. Congrats !
One
more suggestion : The message that flashes when someone clicks “ Download
Original Document “ button – please incorporate that as a part of the button
itself.
