FW: Global Chamber Directory

Shuklendu  /  Nitin

For past 4 days , Ujwala ( my colleague ) was compiling data of Chambers of Commerce ( as per city list sent by you – 8500 no ) from Google search

Then yesterday , Manoj found this source and Ujwala / Tushar started compiling data from this source – which claims to have 12,000 records

Between them , yesterday , they could compile 186 records . In time , this may go up to 200 / day

Even at that rate , it will take 60 working days ( 3 months ) to compile full database of 12,000 Chambers

I would request you to take a look at this link – then suggest if there is some faster method to finish this work

After completing this database , we will start a similar exercise to compile world-wide list of Professional Bodies  in every country

Eg :

Institutes of Engineers / Doctors / Architects / Chartered Accountants / Company Secretaries etc

World-wide , these may number over 50,000

Once compiled , we will design a U / I similar to “ Around the World “ in B2B web site

CC:

Manoj,

Your discovering this source will go a long way towards success of our B2B web site . Thanks

Whenever time permits ( no hurry ) , I wonder if you can find similar “ Resources “ for Professional Bodies

Whereas , Chambers of Commerce are CITY-WISE ( one per city ), and do NOT have branches in other cities , it is different with Professional Bodies

Eg :

Institute of Engineers ( India ) , may have its Headquarters in Mumbai , but it will have 20 / 40 local “ Chapters “ in all major cities of India

So , we need to compile Chapter-wise data

A  Tale  of  Two  Countries

China

Ø  Bo Xilai was a member of Central Politburo of the Chinese Government ( equal to a Central Cabinet Minister in India )

Ø He was arrested a year back and tried for corruption / taking bribes / misusing official position. Not granted bail ( unheard of in China )

Ø Trial lasted 5 days – at the end of which , he was convicted , and punished for 20 years of con-current prison terms

Ø He can appeal but in China , there is no precedence of a higher court setting aside , an order of a lower court !

India

Ø Of our 4500 MPs / MLAs , approx 1500 ( 30 % ) , have criminal cases pending against them

Ø Of these , some 600 have , “ Serious Criminal Cases “ ( murder / rape etc ) pending against them

Ø A few hundred are already “ Convicted “ and have appealed in higher courts

Ø All are out on bail and attending Lok Sabha / State Legislatures

Ø Our Supreme Court considered this ( freedom ) as “ Unconstitutional / Illegal “ and passed an order that MPs / MLAs , who have received punishments of 2 years or more , cannot be granted bail ( even if they have appealed ) and must stay in jail. Neither can they vote , nor contest an election

Ø Central Government filed a “ Review Petition “ in Supreme Court , which refused to change its earlier ruling

Ø So , as expected , Central Government decided to bring out an Ordinance to nullify Supreme Court verdict !

What  Next  ?

Ø Within 2 months , Ordinance must be converted into a proper law , by passing it in Lok Sabha

Ø Since ALL parties have  “ Criminal “  MPs / MLAs , you bet , the law will be passed unanimously !

Voters  of  India

The only political party which is not a party to this heinous conspiracy against Democracy and therefore against the People of India , is the Aam Admi Party ( not having a single MP / MLA so far ? )

Let us vote it to power . That is the only way to test their promise of a corruption-free government

May be we can still stop this rape of our Motherland !

RE: Updated CIR Graphics Tool

Gaurav

A good job

Within each horizontal bar , let us show the “ Duration “ in “ Years “ only

Also , let the graph climb upwards , starting from left ( zero co-ordinate ) and going to right

Can we also show the “ Age ( Years ) “ of the candidate on X axis ? It will make it easy to co-relate the “ career progression “ of the candidate

I would appreciate if Saumya can show me couple of actual resumes , AFTER incorporating above changes

Dear Sir,
I have incorporated the changes that were discussed by you and Saumya in this updated sheet (attached).
I have also added a new sheet for generating a Gantt chart which covers educational qualifications and various jobs across time and their respective durations.

Best Regards,
Gaurav

Yesterday , I spent some time with Saumya looking at the Job Duration Pie-Chart that she had developed using your tool

I have suggested a few , minor changes

However , after looking at what we have earlier done in IndiaRecruiter.net and the Analytical Graphical Profiles ( of a registered candidate ) that our site develops , automatically , Saumya felt that , perhaps it would be nice if the CIR incorporates ,

Ø Education Quali Graph

Ø Career Progression Graph

Similar to what we had done in IndiaRecruiter.net

I believe , resume sent by a candidate does contain the required data to be able to plot these graphs , using some tool similar to what you have developed earlier . If any data is missing , I am sure , it is collected during the interview

As far as “ Level of Education “ is concerned , you will find the drop-list at the “ Submit Resume “ page / form in CustomizeResume.com

You don’t need the candidate to spell-out the “ Levels “ . You know them yourself

As far as “ Designation Levels “ are concerned , you can find the relevant drop-list at “ Job Suggest “ page / search-form on CustomizeResume.com

But,

As Saumya rightly pointed out , same designation in different organizations may correspond to very different “ Designation Level “

Eg :

A “ Manager “ level in a very  large company may correspond to a “ Vice-President “ level in a very small company

Hence , there is plenty of scope for an argument , if you were to draw a Graphical Ascendancy ( Step Ladder Graph ) , where “ Y “ axis shows “ Designation LEVEL “

There can be no argument , if you were to simply show / write , the “ Actual Designation “ of the candidate , on each STEP of the Step Ladder ( each vertical STEP separated by 1 Cm ) – and the length of each STEP corresponding to the “ No of Years put-in “ at that level / in that organization

But such a visualization , ( where “ X “ axis is candidate’s AGE ) , would still be a vast improvement over the TIME LINE that you are currently showing

Feel free to ask for clarifications

InMobi SmartAds and IAB Mobile Rising Stars Now Available on the Largest Independent Mobile Ad Network
New York City, NY, September 23, 2013 – InMobi, the world’s largest independent mobile ad network, today announced InMobi SmartAds, a dynamic and responsive rich media ad capability based on user context, to further personalize mobile advertising. The announcement was made at the 2013 Advertising Week event in New York City.
InMobi SmartAds increase the ad capabilities offered by InMobi to deliver highly personalized ads that boost brand engagement metrics. Recent InMobi SmartAds have delivered:
§ Up to three times higher install rates;
§ Up to 10 times interaction rates; and,
§ More than three times the conversion rate of regular ads.
InMobi SmartAds enable rich media creatives to include dynamic feeds such as live stock prices, RSS news feeds, sports scores, or movie show times, and are influenced and triggered by behavior based on the user context (location, weather conditions and more). For instance, InMobi SmartAds can be used to:
§ Build recall of sporting apparel brands by associating its products with live soccer score feeds;
§ Increase the sale of movie tickets by displaying live movie show time feeds in an ad;
§ Strengthen a coffee chain brand by promoting hot coffee on a cold day and iced coffee on a hot day, based on local temperature conditions; and,
§ Promote location based ads by displaying offers at a nearest store.
The IAB Mobile Rising Stars are mobile creative ad formats identified as part of the official IAB standard ad portfolio to enable brand marketers to tell bigger and bolder stories on smaller mobile screens. InMobi supported formats include filmstrip, pull, full page flex, and slider. These ad formats prove to garner greater user interaction rates and deliver higher brand and message recall than standard mobile banner ads.
“Mobile industry innovation is 10 times faster than what we have seen in the desktop world. We continue to innovate to help brands engage consumers in a far deeper, more personalized way through cutting-edge ad formats that are supported by our award winning creative services teams,” said Preetham V.V., GM and Product Head of Brand Business, InMobi. “By supporting IAB Mobile Rising Stars ad formats across all our platforms, including InMobi Studio, we continue to provide one of the best monetization opportunities available for our publishers.”
“Given its expansive reach and the prominence of its rich-media authoring platform, InMobi’s commitment to standards will help accelerate adoption of the new IAB Mobile Rising Stars ad formats on phones and tablets,” said Joe Laszlo, Sr. Director, IAB Mobile Center. “Advertisers understand that personalizing consumer experiences matter the most when it comes to increasing brand engagement, and ads that can deliver the right content, to the right person, at the right time, in a beautiful format, will be the most effective.”
