Subject: Database of Professional Associations

Dear Team

Occasionally , " Professional Associations " are also called " Societies "

In either case , members are individuals / persons , belonging to a particular Profession / Craft / Skill

Eg:

> Institute of Chartered Accountants

> Institute of Engineers

> Association of Dentists

> Association of Heart Surgeons

> Delhi Bar Association

> Institute of Architects ...etc

We would like to build up a Database of such organizations - starting with Indian organizations

But later on , we will compile data of associations , all over the world

We will give preference to English-speaking countries

Then , in B2B web site , we will enable companies / businesses etc to be able to blast their " Marketing Messages " to such Associations , similar to " Chambers of Commerce "

Why would a company / business , want to blast its Marketing Message to an " Association " ?

Eg;

> A company brings out an energy-efficient Air Conditioner . It must spread this info amongst people who " influence " the decision to buy an Air Conditioner , - in this case , members of " Institute of Architects "

Company can send its Marketing Message to the Institute , requesting it to forward its promotional email to its members

Most institutes are happy to circulate such info amongst its members

> A company brings out a novel Circuit Breaker

It would write to " Institute of Maintenance Engineers "

> A company designs a Dentist Chair . It would write to " Asso of Dentists "

> A company comes out with a " Accounting Software " package . It would write to " Institute of Chartered Accountants "

Remember ,

Each " Purchase Decision " ( whether , for a product or a service ) is taken by an " Individual " - who may or may not be the " Purchase Manager " of an organization

A marketer must " target " such a decision-maker

And , in most cases , such Decision Makers , are members of their Professional Organization

Sometimes , even members of International Organizations

Every company / business , employs professionals , who belong to some or other Professional Organizations

Easiest way to reach-out to them , is thru their Professional Organizations

For some time now , Manoj and Sanjivani , have been trying to find links of web sites where we can find a list of such Associations

It is necessary to step up such search

They may wish to look up following web sites :

> JustDial

> Sulekha

> Getit.in

> IndiaMart

> Yellowpages.co.in

> HotFrog.in

> CitizensIndia

> BizMax.in

Kailas should focus on finding Database Vendors , who may have such database readily available with them

We need following minimum info :

> Name of Association

> Country

> City

> Email Id

> Web URL ( optional )

I am sure , Tushar can do some R&D himself

PS :

Let us say , Sonal has a mandate for finding a " Materials Manager " for Paradip Phosphate

It might make her task of headhunting easy , if she were to send out a message to the " Indian Institute of Materials Managers " - of course , without revealing the identity of our client

May be IIMM , would forward her email to its 9800 members all over India !

When jobs are getting scarce , I would think that an association may want to help its members by circulating such Vacancies
